disappointing after enjoying superb meals until several years ago

awe have been staying and enjoying superb meals at this hotel until several years ago. The room was adequate but we would have appreciated shower gel and shampoo as provided in all other hotels we have stayed at. There was no wifi reception in our room and the tv worked only intermittently.

The weather was very hot when we visited so our view is coloured by that - the room was small and poorly lit, it was impossible to cool down even with the window open and after we had unplugged the mini-bar (the cooling coils on the back were very hot) The bed was comfortable but spoiled by bedding designed for cooler weather and a waterproof undersheet. The grounds are lovely with extensive woodland walks.

Perfect getaway 90 mn away from Paris

An authentic chateau with all the perks, great decoration, cosy rooms, good dining, a park, not far south from Orleans, en route to the Castles of the Loire. Easy car park, friendly personel, moderate prices. The perfect combination.

Great hotel to experience the french country

We slept two nights in this very French style hotel. A beautiful chateau in the woods off route D2020. We took a HUGE room where Napoleon III once slept (so delighted when I heard that!). The room was huge! with two boudoir, a closet, toilet room (very french I guess) and bathroom and big windows all over; even a huge one with a peaceful view of the woods in the bathroom. The bed was big and comfortable, a nice size tv with working cable, one heater in the bathroom and one in the room kept the temperature perfect (we were surprised that we never had to mess with the heaters). They told us we could experience bad wifi connection in the room but our connection was good on the phones. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful; they gave us a small tour of the hotel and the grounds. Breakfast is small but good quality; good coffee, fruits, you can squeeze orange juice if you like, some bread, ham, eggs (boiled), butter and jam. I learned that french people don't eat a big breakfast but this is enough to get you started. This hotel is small and very cozy, you can chill at the bar or take a walk to the woods and for the summer they have a pool and tennis court. It's the perfect place to stay and visit the castles around the area.

Pretty château in peaceful grounds: definitely on the shabby side of chic

We were very pleased to find this hotel for an overnight stop on our way south.

Set in its own parkland, it sets a very tranquil scene and there are pleasant walks in the woods. There is a courtyard where you can take aperitifs.

There is also a small pool and a tennis court. While some of the rooms are in the "château" itself, other, more modern ones are in the former garage block.

The public rooms are appropriately and quaintly furnished and there is a small bar, plus a dining room which caters for a max of 16 covers I should think.

Our room overlooked the main grounds: nice view, huge comfy bed, decent linen and a new bathroom.

A few niggles tho - the main stair carpet really needs a clean; there was no shower curtain, or indeed anything from which to hang the shower above the bath; the free Wifi didn't reach what was clearly once the master bedroom. Some of the cushions were not clean.

There is also a weird combination of "traditional" art intermixed with weird orange modern daubs.

Breakfast was adequate, but it was completely self-service. I realise that it is a pretty small operation, but I would at least have liked to have found the tables laid with pastries and to have been offered tea/coffee/juice. The quality of the selection wasn't that great either.

The dining room had an interesting, tho fairly limited menu. Some courses were really fantastic; others, less so. Service however was great.

This property really has potential and yes, I'd go back, but there are still some issues to address.
