(Mis-)Leading Hotel of the World
Mister Pon 22/08/2017 01:56We stayed a week in the Hotel Chatham Bars Inn Resort as I expected this would be an outstanding hotel - it is a member of the so called "Leading Hotels of the World".
Arrival: Staff is friendly, but nobody brought us to the suite, which was in another building.
Rooms: this was truly not a five-star experience with broken kabinet doors, which we claimed upon arrival, but have never get fixed. Rooms and especially bathrooms need a makeover. More a "Holiday Inn Feeling" than a five star hotel. Room had a fireplace at least - nice!
Food: great breakfast, but if you sit on the patio, you have to share the place with mices running between your feet.
Housekeeping: do you expect your room cleaned every morning and having a turn-down service in the evening in a 5 star Hotel??? NOT in Chatham Bars Inn! Some days the room was not done at all until next day night - so, we had to call to get it done! Laundry is not picked up although called houskeeping before! Just bring it yourself all the way down to the front desk! You do not need curtains as the windows are so dirty that you cannot look through.
In summary, the staff is extremely friendly, the location is great, but the Hotel is truly NOT a leading hotel of the world (can you buy the membership?)

We stayed for four days and left it until the end of our two week vacation as a bit of a treat
The staff are excellent and it was good that they could accommodate a family of four in one room
The setting is fantastic and you can watch the seal colony from the beach.
Why not 5 stars?
Too busy. During our stay we were put on wait lists for breakfast; dinner and sun loungers for the pool; it was simply too busy.
Relatively expensive. Room only, so did not include breakfast and cottage room had no view, slightly cramped.
We failed to get a lounger for the pool throughout our stay.
Meals. Two of the restaurants do not take bookings which is ok but a bit frustrating when you turn up and are told it's an hour wait. The shore restaurant is very busy. We tried the clam meal on our final night (only way we could guarantee a table). It was obviously going to be largely fish based. $65 a head but a bit disappointing that we ended up paying this for my daughter and son to have pizza and chips!
Complete lack of evening entertainment (outside of a sports type bar).
For the price we paid we were expecting a bit more but this is a very nice hotel

CBI gets to know you so well that they make your stay unforgettable. You will feel as if you matter and that your level of satisfaction is their top priority. Whether you are dining in one of their onsite restaurants or lounging at the beach, staff and servers will cater to you and provide you with a great deal of attention. My room was beautifully kept by housekeeping and they catered to my every request. The concierge helped us to make plans with options for boating, events on property and beyond. CBI is the original Cape Cod beachside resort full of luxury and class. I have returned here yearly for the past 23 years and at times off season and things just keep getting better!
A million dollar view
Jaycapecodon 19/08/2017 00:13You don't need to spend a million to live like a millionaire, go to CBI in late afternoon before dinner crowds, have a cocktail on porch overlooking the harbor, it is perfect. If you do have a million, stay for dinner, that I did not do, go to Pate's or Delmar.
Mooncusser ventilation system = sinus infection
Bradley Fon 17/08/2017 02:043 nights x 2 years. SINUS INFECTION from ventilation both years! Room was cleaned badly & not at all 1 day both years. Front desk said TY, they'd fix & be in touch. $1100-1500 a night & never in touch
