Weekend Getaway from Bangalore

Roads leading to the homestay - Very good roads and adventurous drive through Bandipur Tiger Reserve (so please drive slow, exercise caution, do not get off your vehicle, respect Animals - its their territory that we are treading on and not the other way around). Finding the homestay wasn't difficult.
2. Rooms - Basic, Simple and Clean. Beware of ants, do not store food inside the room (else you will definitely have disturbed sleep at night). There is a common balcony, where you can unwind (carry your bluetooth speakers).
3. Property - Very basic but well maintained. Mr. Soman is an eco sensitive person, tour of his garden will definitely throw light on his respect for Nature. Nothing compares to waking up to chirping of Birds.
4. There is parking available for up to 2 cars within the Property
5. Food - Now this is where you need to pay attention. Only breakfast is provided by the owner. We found it a bit inconvenient on the day we landed to know that we need to travel for 20min again to get lunch. Had this been communicated in prior, we could have planned better. Dinner/Lunch - please plan to help yourself, there are options in the town just factor that in.
6. Sightseeing - Mr. Soman is not very helpful on this. So if you want guided trek tours, you need to figure that out yourself. Of course March/April/May is probably isn't the right time to Trek but there are options (this again we came to know very late in our stay, and we couldn't make it)
7. Overall, the host is polite, courteous and straightforward. Do not forget to buy some organic Turmeric and Pepper from him.

Siddharth Yon 11/01/2017 11:04Enjoyed our stay there. Very homely, clean and a cozy place to stay in. The owners of the place are also very friendly, warm and helpful. Beautiful garden and scenery around the house. Breakfast was excellent. Mr. Soman was very generous by letting us use his kitchen to prepare food for our baby.
Best thing in Wayanad !!! Seriously.
mkupraveenon 16/12/2016 14:08Stayed with family in green orchard in Dec 2016. Our happiness increased multi folds due to immense hospitality provided by Mr. Soman(owner). I must not forget to mention about breakfast which was prepared by him and it was unbelievable. Very calm and peaceful place with old and typical kerela style home stay. During our complete stay we found and realized that the cheeral homestay was better than any other view points in Wayanad. I do recommend others (who has their own vehicle since it is far from Sulthan Bathery) for sure.
Back in the green paradise

And again, the 3 rd time, we stayed there and loved every minute of these 9 days. It is such a peaceful place, wonderful to relax and have a good time, also visiting interesting places within short distances.
The owners Soman and Shashi are most caring, most helpful and kind and prepare the most delicous and healthy food you can imagine. Also we enjoy very much the dense green with the flowers, the also green neighbourhood and wonderful fields nearby, the beautiful house and property and the clean, cozy and comfortable big room and bathroom.
We are looking forward to return once again when we are back in India next time.
Thank you so much for making us feel so good, and thank you very much for your help.
Excellent hospitality and food
Hoshiyar Don 07/09/2016 16:40Mr & Mrs Soman are excellent hosts and they let you feel very welcome. The place is quiet and you feel very relaxed. The sit out area is ideal for night drinks and conversation. The breakfast is very very tasty and rejuvenates you to start your day of exploring Wayanad attractions.
Also, they provided very good ginger tea/milk tea. They gave us a bag of home-grown organic pepper as parting gift.
Mr Soman takes care of you very well and although they dont serve lunch/dinner, the breakfast makes up for it.
We recommend this stay for anyone who is not looking for luxury but for a simple tranquil clean accommodation.
