Best wedding weekend ever!!!!!!

The Cheney House and Bobbi and Anthony made our wedding weekend absolutely amazing!!! Bobbi and Anthony were so nice and take great pride in the Cheney House. Anthony gave us an incredible historical tour of the bed and breakfast, and both Anthony and Bobbi treated us like family and long-lost friends all weekend. My husband and I booked the entire bed & breakfast for our wedding weekend and this was the best choice we made!! The rooms are perfect, the beds are so comfortable, and the amenities are top-notch. The breakfast is unbelievable-- cooked to order with fresh fruit and pastries and hot dishes and coffee/juice. We had the best stay (and we've stayed at many hotels around the country!), and I recommend the Cheney House to everyone. Ashland, NH has a lot to offer, and I'm so glad we chose to stay at the Cheney House. Not only did Anthony and Bobbi welcome us, but they also were so welcoming to the ladies from Angela's Cut Above! I had 3 ladies come to the Cheney House to do our hair and make-up for the wedding, and Bobbi and Anthony were so gracious to let us use the entire living room (and even offered the hair ladies water, snacks, extension cords, and TV trays!). Bobbi and Anthony are incredible people, and you will get a once-in-a-lifetime experience by staying at the Cheney House. We are so lucky to have stayed there for our wedding weekend. Thank you, Bobbi and Anthony!!!!!

For our 1st time at a bed and breakfast, we had a fantastic experience! Our hosts were very accommodating from our arrival until our departure! The house was clean and chock full of interesting pictures and artifacts. Our room was cozy and our meal was delightful! When it came time to leave we needed a ride to our final destination and Anthony and Bobbi went above and beyond by driving us to where we needed to go! Thank you both so much for making our 1st time in New Hampshire and our 1st experience in a bed and breakfast a memorable one! We highly recommend Cheney House as the go to bed and breakfast when staying in New Hampshire!

We've had multiple stays at Cheney House, starting back in 2005 summer. Have family in the area, and it's great to be in the Lakes Region, and see loved ones -- but it's even better to end the day with a return to the Cheney House for a quiet, restful night.

The breakfast is always good, and being under the care of Bobbie and Anthony, the owners, is wonderful. We've stayed in the Green Room, the Blue Room, and the Red Room -- the latter being our favorite for some reason which is undefinable. All of the rooms have great beds, are clean as a whistle, with lots of toiletries items offered in each bathroom -- just like in hotels but nicer.

Anthony has told us the history of the house and Mr. Cheney. There's a large map in the downstairs hallway which has pushpins marking hundreds of places where guests have come from -- this brings a warm feeling, as it's hard to imagine any but super nice people there. A nice thing about the location is that you are close by a good restaurant, a few pizza and other places in Ashland; can drive a short distance up Rte 3, alongside Little Squam, to get a lobster roll or ice cream at a roadside place with a nice view, or go into Holderness to rent a boat ... and one can quickly get onto I-93 to get to other destinations. There are some luxe places to stay by Squam, but the cost is going to be a lot higher, so the value of Cheney House is super good.

You can reserve online or call Cheney House directly. At times when we've spent multiple nights there, the owners have offered a little discount, so ask them -- can't hurt.

Peaceful, welcoming, friendly, cozy, and entertaining...didn't want to leave!

The Cheney House is gorgeous, filled with history and interesting stories. The room (we had the Red room) was very cozy, charming, and comfortable. Anthony and Bobbi made us feel so at home, I really enjoyed their company and conversations...I didn't want to leave, wanted to stay for longer. The bedroom and bathroom had everything we possibly needed (and more) and the breakfast was fast, filling, and delicious (eggs and bacon cooked perfectly, in my opinion). This was our first time at a bed and breakfast together and we thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere that Anthony and Bobbi provided, as well as their charming and fun personalities. I honestly felt as if I made 2 new friends...and now know of a perfect place to stay when in that area again. The Cheney House is located in a quiet area, but close to things to do. This place comes highly recommended. We truly appreciated the experience.

Simply Outstanding

Over the last 10 years, my husband and I have travelled extensively through Europe, the United Kingdom and the West Coast of America. We have stayed in more B&B's than I care to count - some were very good, most were satisfactory and some were pretty poor.

The experience we had at Cheney House was simply outstanding. The hosts, Bobbie and Anthony made us feel so very welcome and comfortable in their home. The century old house has a beautiful feel and our room (the Blue Room) had everything to ensure our stay would be restful including an ensuite with a good size bath, chocolates and home cooked cookies.

The breakfast that Bobbie cooked is definitely the best we've had since arriving in the States two weeks ago where we have been eating breakfast in the the most highly recommended restaurants from New York to New Hampshire. Added to all of this were the wonderful conversations and stories about life in New Hampshire.

Without hesitation, I give Cheney House a five star rating.
