Best B&B Ever

My now husband and I stayed the weekend of our wedding. Troy and Kathleen were so sweet and inviting, even offering our pup some water on our visit. Our guests were treated with respect and everyone raved about the venue, food, and service. Kathleen and Troy were even sweet enough to entertain our puppy when we went to dinner that night and we came back to her snuggled in bed with them. For animal lovers, like myself and my husband, this was priceless. The bedrooms were gorgeous, breakfast was great, but the experience is definitely what made it all worth it. I would not have wanted it any other way. I wish I could do it every weekend! Thank you so much! :) With love, Kati, David & Lima Bean
Beautiful Fall Foliage Getaway

My husband and I were gifted a three nights stay at this marvelous B&B, so we decided to use it during fall foliage season. It turned out that staying at Chestnut Hill was the highlight of our trip! Our first evening included an in-room couples massage by the incomparable Miss Erin who gave us the Best Ever massages. Along with the massages, we enjoyed champagne, a fruit, meat and cheese platter large enough for a party, and lucious chocolate truffles. A dozen red roses also awaited us in our room. This was the Romance Package which was worth far more than we paid for it. Also part of it was a dinner for two in town after our massages. After our first evening, we weren’t sure we ever wanted to leave our beautiful room which had a jetted, two person soaking tub, jetted shower, and gas fireplaces in both the bedroom and bathroom.
Our breakfast was served to our room each morning, also part of our Romance package. Each one was a culinary delight with a beautiful presentation. We had access all day to drinks in the lower level bar and entertainment room, plus baked goods, such as pumpkin muffins and chocolate chip cookies that were out of this world!
But even as luxurious as all of this sounds, it was surpassed by the warm, gracious hospitality of Kathleen, Troy and all of the Chestnut Hill staff. From our arrival, we were greeted as old friends and introduced to other guests, all by first names. It is obvious that the Ayers family has many repeat guests who feel more like friends than guests. That’s how we felt by our first evening. We had our privacy, but it was obvious they wanted to make us feel at home and part of the ‘extended family’ of guests, to whatever extent we desired. Some of the guests enjoyed chatting around the bar; some enjoyed lingering over breakfast. Since ours was more of a romantic trip, we weren’t as social, but felt very comfortable doing what suited us. When it was time to leave, we felt we were leaving some of the nicest folks we have ever met.
As for the grounds and the home, all is in top condition. I can see why so many have their wedding there. The separate wedding/reception building in the rear of the property is a beautiful venue and the grounds are ideal for an outside ceremony or reception. The day we left, the staff was busy preparing for an outside wedding, in fact.
So, thank you Kathleen and Troy, and all of your fabulous staff members for a most excellent and refreshing stay! And please pass on our thanks to Miss Erin and her magic fingers! We are still talking about those excellent massages!
Great Experience

Kathleen is a great hostess and an even better chef. Her breakfast's were delicious and not the run of the mill scrambled eggs and sausage. She was most welcoming and quickly offered suggestions for activities in the area as well as local restaurants for dinner. A delightful experience. I cannot say enough positive things about Chestnut Hill.
You Will Feel Like Royalty

The stay at the Inn was birthday present from my wife. Kathleen welcomed us as family. I highly recommend to everyone, take advantage of a stay at this property. The home has an amazing history, a majestic presence on top of the hill and an outstanding view once you are there. Location is perfect, allowing a short drive to vineyards or restaurants in the area.
Absolutely perfect

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Chestnut Hill. Troy and Kathleen and their staff made us feel at home, while also treating us like royalty. The b&b and our room were clean, excellent, beautiful, and sumptuous. The breakfasts and appetizers were delicious! Kathleen was very helpful and informative, letting us know the great spots to visit in the area, making reservations for us, providing directions, etc. Our only regret was not staying longer!
