What People are saying

Heritage hotel

0108geetaon 17/08/2017 18:26

The hotel had a heritage look very neat and clean ----the roofs were made with bamboo leaves, chairs, lampshade, toilet kit aiiwere made with bamboo ------ food was just manageable as lack of vegs due to drought --- but staff were very co-operative Only problem I faced was no tea arrangements were there in the rooms so we had to wait up-to 7 o'clock for tea

Value for money!!!

We had a nice time here with friendly staff. The hotel manager shared some historical information about the chettinade heritage. My partner felt very sick and had stomach pain, desperately needed medication in the early hours of the day. The manager without any hesitant went out and got us some medication.

Overall this is the best place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city to quite and calm environment.

basic but ok

our room was basic but ok and the bed comfortable. we did the bullock cart ride which was fun.
the restaurant was not very good and the staff although obviously trying their best were untrained, we were also eaten alive by mozzies in the restaurant-they should use coils before guests arrive, we wish we had eaten at their other premises more upmarket restaurant

A nice place

This was a nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The food was good and excellent value for money. The room was clean and quiet. So a perfectly good place to stay if you are visiting this fascinating area and can't get into or don't want to pay to stay in one of the heritage hotels. Top tip - go to see the video about the area in the sister hotel the Chettinadu Mansion, then visit the couple of old houses that are open for visits for a nominal charge.

Basic Three star in strange deserted area

GenevaBeaveron 13/02/2017 12:20

Cox and Kings (bless them) put us here for two nights. I think you can walk around the town in an hour - here are lots of decaying photogenic houses and piles of less photogenic dogs - but nothing else to do

Since the area has 'history' it may have made more sense to stay in one of the historical hotels - which were only 30 dollars a night more.

There are no common areas, and the 'pool' was 500 meters down the road and looked quite unpleasant.

The hotel itself was clean well presented 2-3 star place - and the food was really good as long as you don't take the set menu. They had alcohol under the table - and their prices were good.

So it's a perfectly acceptable hotel as long as you don't think it's going to be historic hotel with a pool ...
