superbly helpful chambermaid

She sorted out a problem without even being asked.
It really made a difference to my stay .
We have so enjoyed the beautiful room with its own patio kept in good order by Rachel and her colleagues.
I would also like to point out what helpful staff work in the spa. Sophie
showing me round and making my time there enjoyable.
The ultimate experience
suzesmithkenton 19/08/2017 18:53We have stayed in a lot of lovely hotels around th world and are 5C members. However, the Chewton Glen is special and is the gold standard to which other hotels will now be compared.
We had a wonderful stay in one of the tree houses for our daughters' birthday. The hotel made us feel very welcome and special from the lunch at the new excellent casual Kitchen restaurant, the welcome birthday balloons and goodies in our room and at dinner in the main restaurant. We also spent time in the spa and pool.
The service was impeccable, personalised and exceptionally good. The tree house itself was stunning, tastefully luxurious, comfortable, private, quiet, with every mod con (e.g. hair straighteners!), high quality snacks and a wonderful private jacuzzi. It was also huge.
We've stayed at the CG a few times before, but this was the first time in a tree house. It was well worth the extra expense.
We'll be back. :)

Spa Evening
1988travelon 18/08/2017 22:15The evening is a perfect time to visit this spa. It was quiet and relaxing. Swimming pool is great and the temperature is just right.
The lady in the spa cafe was especially excellent and gave great recommendation on the crab sandwich and smoothies and my spa therapist Lorna was friendly and professional during my massage.
I would suggest eye pillows in the massages so it isn't so bright while laying face up and so you can fully relax!

Jacquelin Son 18/08/2017 14:48Just spent two nights at Chewton Glen. We were in an Estate room which had it's own balcony. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was huge with separate shower and separate toilet.
Breakfast was delicious. We also enjoyed a snack on the terrace and lite dinner at the Kitchen. All were very good.
Great in many ways
andrewbT131CJon 18/08/2017 12:16Hotel is great in many ways. It has fantastic gardens and spa and the room we stayed in (46) was lovely. However, there are a couple of niggles that prevent a 5 star rating. Firstly we had to wait for the room to be ready on arrival and were directed to the bar to wait. The cost of 2 gin and tonics (£45) while we waited is outrageous!
Secondly, part of the restaurant overlooking the gardens was closed for the evening, so we dined in part of the restaurant with no views and virtually no natural light. That was a real shame.
