What People are saying
You live and learn (the life of ordinary people)
UAOSAon 08/09/2014 15:40I'm sure I set a new European record of staying 7 nights in this "middle of nowhere" place (to quote one of the reviewers). My reason to be there was simple - closer to the airport and International Exhibition Center (New Venue). I got what I deserved and spent no extra money on reaching both destinations. Plus: a first-floor room (# 8218) at the end of the corridor leading directly into a backyard adjacent to some sort of hostel, with local tennis players enjoying their hobby every evening without any restraints. The window looked into the backyard and all up the stairway (probably, to heaven). There was no bath in my bathroom and I had to use paper shoes while standing ankle-deep in water in front of old exotic Chinese style bowl. The soaps and shampoos never changed. There was neither fridge nor mini-bar. The bad smell from the bathroom came thru. The area is full of old dirty garages and lacks any decent food shop. The whole adventure helped me appreciate more than ever such basic things like smile from the reception's ladies and everyone's sincere desire to help me survive. True, the staff are very friendly and the breakfast is very traditional Chinese. I miss that rice and orange-color hot beverage.
Excellent budget hotel
Viral30on 21/06/2013 05:34This hotel is near to the beijing airport, nice rooms, free lan internet in room, clean room, clean toilet, wake up call, free bus service to all the terminals, quiet hotel no airplanes noise here.
The bathroom taps are bit old and need somw repair, else all good lcd tv, nice for a overnight stay, for me there was an indian rest at 3km hence i choose this one, but a good place to stay
Good value if a location near the airport is needed.
Pauline hon 10/04/2013 12:15The various reviews had left me wondering if I was doing the right thing booking at Guomen. Also our taxi driver seemed unsure of the hotel's exact location.[Have it written in Chinese!] We arrived at the hotel after midnight on a very cold evening. The front desk staff [two young ladies] spoke reasonable English. That was a good start & there was no problem with the check- in. I had been concerned we might find the desk closed! We were in the second building, a longish distance away but the room was sufficient for our needs after a long international flight. It was not flash but adequate & we were not cold. The beds were clean & even if rather hard we fell asleep quickly. The breakfast in the morning was a bonus at the price we paid. It may have not offered all the choices we've come to expect but there was sufficient variety that all four of my family were satisfied. Even though the shower facilities are basic, the rooms are clean & perfectly adequate. We were thankful not to have to negotiate a new city in the dead of night , & this hotel being under 10 km from the airport was a good arrangement for us, & at a bargain price.
Do not book this hotel ever ever ever
MattwalesNorthWaleson 01/02/2013 14:56Booked this hotel for a one night stay after a long day's travelling back to Beijing from Thailand. The attraction was it's proximity to the airport, free breakfast , free airport pick up, and what appeared to be rooms of a reasonable standard. On arrival at Beijing airport we called their driver, as per instructions. He said the hotel was full and we would be taken elsewhere. Elsewhere, may as well have been nowhere because I was about to start the worst night of my life. We were dumped (because the driver left very quickly) at what must be the worst most dirty hotel I have ever had the misfortune of staying in, Beijing Konggangkuaijie Hotel. It does not appear on tripadvisor otherwise I would be making a separate review all of it's own! It cost me 280RMB for a night of hell. The desk staff were rude and unhelpful, the room smelt like something, or someone had died in it, I had booked a double bed it was a twin room. The "free water" turned out to be one of those water bottles that dispenses semi boiled water. The towels were filthy, matching the rest of the room. I tried calling elong who I had made the booking through but the girl could only apologise and offered no solution. We spent the night huddled together on one single bed, left at first light without a shower and without a breakfast. Please do not use this hotel ever, I have since been told that a night in an internet cafe at only 10RMB is both cheaper, cleaner and more fun than this ghastly place.
Creepy hotel
y4nn4on 28/08/2012 06:05I come to this hotel by hotel shuttle at 3.30 am. The shuttle has no Air-cond. When we arrived the lobby and the recepsiont seems so dark cause they didn't turn any light on. As they give us the key to our room, they just show us the direction to our room without deliver us instead. We walk along the creepy alley to our room which is in different building with the hotel lobby. The alley is just like in the middle of cemetery, creepy as it can be. Really shocking us who brings little children. Will not recommend this hotel to anyone.
