Lovely hotel for a work conference!
Sim Bon 23/05/2017 18:13Myself and 60 others stayed at this lovely hotel in April for a course. The rooms were compact, clean and the shower was lovely! Great views overlooking the beach and breakfast was nice; filled us up with a range of savoury and sweet options.
We particular enjoyed the bar, very cheap for wine, but average costs for most other drinks. The food, burgers, calamari and snacks were also lovely.
If in Santander, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Booked via Brittany Ferries Super room overlooking the sea. All facilities
CATHERINE Gon 18/05/2017 23:13Great position . Easy to access from ferry as a foot passenger. Super reception staff. Fabulous room overlooking the sea. Slept well. Comfy bed, quiet and blacked out curtains.
The icing on the cake would have been tea and coffee facilities in the room and a healthier breakfast choice but would not hesitate to go again and recommend to others.
Classy hotel overlooking the sea
LouieGribbleon 14/05/2017 14:43I had a one night stay here after the ferry from UK and I wish it was longer.
Hotel and staff all very good and the room I ended up with (they did admit it was the best in the hotel) was stunning.
Everything was great - food, hospitality, internet, view and even the price.
Can't wait to return!
Just beautiful
sue Lon 30/04/2017 10:59My partner and I stayed at this fab hotel. It was extremely clean , comfortable and just perfect . We chose to upgrade to a balcony room and it was definitely worth it . The views are magnificent and the hotel is at the end of the bay which was just perfect .
We also had the breakfast and there was so much to choose from we could have eaten for hours . Make sure you get the fried eggs on toast.
We would definitely come back here again .
Wonderful view to the sea and delicious breakfast.
Pok Son 24/04/2017 08:04We stayed one night in a side sea view room next to the parking lot. There was some noise but not too problematic. The windows were good soundproof and it was calm at night.
We could have a good view to the sunset from our room.
My husband loves the style and decoration of the hotel. I admire the different paintings depicting life of the sardines fishermen - after which the beach area is named "El Sandinero". Their lobby gives a warm feeling and is nicely designed.
We didn't try lunch or dinner but the breakfast was one of the best we've ever had in a hotel of this price. We paid less than 100€ per room including breakfast. Choices are plentiful and all Spanish flavors were presented. Orange juice - fresh. Fruits - whole and cut. Various pastries and cakes. Raw ham, cooked ham, cheeses, bacons, fried eggs. Big coffee machine. A large selection of breads and rolls and toast breads. Delicious flavored yogurt served in short glasses. Even sample size Gazpascho! I dined like a queen on protein rich food items since my diet disallowed me carbohydrates.
We slept well here. The bedroom was a bit tight but comfortable enough. The free parking in front of the hotel was packed and we couldn't park there but found some street parking by cheer luck just 200 meters away.
The hotel is right on the beach promenade and a few hundred meters away from great beach restaurants and eateries. Even a supermarket in 5 minutes walk. The Spanish do know how to please their visitors, especially when come to eating.
Service people are efficient and helpful but they were very busy with tending to packs of customers at the café so we had to wait a bit to give our order. This shows the popularity of this hotel.
It is far from the city center but there is a bus number 2 that takes you there. We didn't try it since our stay was too short. We instead did the promenade walk. Santander is fantastic and Hotel Chiqui adds to that reputation.
