Dissapointing, price-quality is off
Miekuson 30/07/2017 03:52This part of the Loisir hotel is old, tucked away and doesn`t give any sign of hospitality or luxury. Rooms are clean, but there is no closet and no place to put your suitcase. It`s a 8-10 min. walk to the pool in the other building. Where the dive pool is closed, so you have to do with one childrenspool outside and one small pool inside. Outside there are no umbrellas and no natural shadowspots. I found this unbelievable and tried to speak to the staff about this. At the pool and at the frontdesk. Unfortunately their english is poor and they didn`t seem to understand that no shadow is a problem. The only response I got was; we don`t have umbrella. And that`s it. What a lack of creativity and hospitality! The location of the hotel is also not optimal. You have to take a cab to go to to the center of Naha and catch a bus or monorail. Cabs are expensive, (price comparable to europe, not asia) and by bus you can only reach the middle part of the island.
Due to construction works nearby the hotel we experienced a lot of noise while we were trying to relax at the pool.
Last positive point; the Ryukyu restaurant in the hotel is good. Good food for an acceptable price and very kind and helpful staff.
All and all we found Loisir (and Okinawa) quite disappointing. The price-quality balance is really off and people don`t seem to be very willing to help you or make your stay live up to expectations.
Tired, mean service at the front
Enjoydifferenceon 16/12/2016 16:40This hotel was recommended by local business owners who use the hotel for their reception etc. Upon my arrival very late, the reception staff was unhelpful, not enough explanation, no smile. I wondered whether this guy was ever given any basic training as a hotelier.
The spa area was not relaxing but just a bathing area. Miles to get to from the east building.
The room was very tired and carpet was dirty. Could not be bothered of arguing to change room as I meant to stay only six hours. I had a twin room but the room was just filled with beds, no floor space to open my suitcases so I had no choice but opened them on the bed.
I informed the hotel at time of booking that my flight the following morning being very early, but when checking in they just announced me that it was me who decided to abondone breakfast so they would not do anything. This is the very first hotel where I have ever stayed where they did not even offer a bottle of water or snack to take instead. Very surprised of their mean service.
Very happy to leave. Never again, Loisir.
Decent place, but could do with an update
junkymotownon 30/05/2014 01:03Stayed with my wife and eleven-month old son in May 2014. Not a bad place, but really needs an update. The breakfast was great- loads and loads to eat, with Okinawan special dishes too, although the breakfast area smelled a bit damp and fusty.
Our room was nice and compact, but very warm. When the aircon was on it was chilly, as soon as it was off it was roasting again. Having said that, it was 28 degrees or so outside!
Staff nice and friendly, very helpful, and great provisions for our baby. Baby chairs at breakfast, and a fantastic cot for the bedroom.
Parking available onsite for a price, and a nice, cheap supermarket just across the road. A wee walk into town, which isn't so bad, as long as it's not raining!
We were offered an upgrade to the hotel next door for 2000 Yen a night. We didn't take it - but would do next time.
good price with comfortable and clean room
efung8gon 02/01/2014 04:41My daughter and I stayed 3 nights here as the price was really attractive. The hotel was a little bit far away from the mono-rail or the bus station. We have to walk around 15 mins from either station to the hotel, but we liked the quiet environment. We enjoyed staying in the swimming pool and hot spring after having a long walk. Althought we needed to pay 1000 JPY for going in the swimming pool and hot spring but we can go for 3 days!
