I cannot rate the experience of staying here, because (like Tyree below) we encountered only dismissal and rejection. We booked in May for August. Our transfer from the airport never got as far as Chrysalis, although that's what the bus driver called out. Essentially our transfer was intercepted in the early hours of the morning at some other hotel. We were greeted by a man who didn't identify himself, whom we assumed was from Chrysalis and who proceeded to explain there was no room for us there and we must get into a taxi to be driven to a hotel in the centre of Hersinissos. By that time the transfer bus had left. We were tired, disorientated and vulnerable and had little choice. We paid for the taxi and the hotel in the town centre for the night, but had little sleep. The next morning, unable to call our travel agent before 11 am local time, we wandered round a few hotels to check availability for 10 days - everything booked up. We had an hour before having to leave our room to contact the travel agent and find a solution. After several phone calls, we were advised to get a taxi to Chrysalis. We were told there had been a mistake; so we duly got a taxi and finally turned up there. Now the owner, who turned out to be the man from the night before, told us we were foolish to turn up because he had already explained there was no room for us and that the travel company had not paid him on our behalf. Essentially we were told to go away. He could not help us. We got a taxi back to Hersinissos and at considerable expense solved the problem ourselves; otherwise we had the status of refugees! Significant is the fact that all phone calls and emails from our travel agent were not answered. (See Tyree's identical comments below.)
In the last ten years we have booked hotels online all over the world and never experienced anything like this.
Book this place because it looks nice, but don't necessarily expect to get there!!
After booking my package holiday my accommodation was meant to be here..upon arrival approximately 10.20pm Greece time.. I was greeted by the manger of the hotel. Straight away appeared agitated and confused as to my booking.. I showed the manger my booking and reference.. he then informed me that he was not taking client from my accommodation company.. BEDSONLINE... I don't know if he has had some bad business from them.. but I was basically told I can't stay here.. but I got the impression as even if this was the case he wasn't willing to put us up for the night.. which we would of paid.. he looked at us as if we had no money which is far from the case.. although he did manage to find us somewhere to stay for the night.. and we sorted accommodation with the travel agent the next day.. he did while I was there show me an email he sent to the company in June saying he wasn't accepting client from them.. I booked my holiday in May and was not notified.. he doesn't respond to email or calls.. so people please please be careful.. I recommend not to stay here book somewhere else and make sure you are ATOL Protected.....
Was our first time there. Apartment was clean, but not as new as we were hoping. Breakfast was so-so. Visited Chrysalis at the end of the season so it felt that the family who's this place is, were a little tired. Very near to the beach!
We spent our 7-days holiday in this hotel in August. We had a room with the sea view and we loved it much! We loved the design of the room - it is very stylish and modern! The only thing we disliked was the air conditioning - it worked not very well. As to food, it was okay, mediterranian simple food, but we expected more fruits. So we went to Lidl to buy them. The good thing is that there is a fridge in the room, and it saved us in Crete's hot days ;) It is better to book ALL Inclusive variant, because there is no many places to go to eat out near there, especially in hot days. But if you have a car then you may go the city and eat there. The path to the sea is 15-20 minutes. The path to Lidl is 20 minutes. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. They speak both English and Russian. Actually, I enjoyed stay in this hotel, because it is quiet and romantic.
Two of us stayed here for 1 week. It was a fantastic holiday made amazing by the staff there, the manager is very honest and is always willing to help. There were 3 girls working as well who always had a smile on their face (sorry I don't know your names). The food was lovely but you may find it a bit repetitive after a while. There is free wifi in the hotel but it is a bit temperamental. The room was quite basic with just a bed, wardrobe, tv, fridge and bathroom and was cleaned every few days. We did worry when we walked into the room that there was no safe however when we asked in reception, you can rent one that they take into your room and plug it in or you could also store passports in the safe in the reception for free. People who are mentioning the dirt path, there is a path like this with no lighting, however there is also another route you can take to the resort, it just takes around 20 minutes longer, but is completely by lit up and on roads. We left the hotel before dark and got a taxi back instead which cost around €7 one way. I have really enjoyed my stay here! Thank you!
