Amazing location, great service, everything excellent!! We arrived late but we could have dinner as well and it was perfect: we recommend the cheese board..french tasteful cheese!! I strongly recommend this wonderful Chateau, even just for one night!

We have just spent one night at Chateau d'Apigne. A very beautiful property, our room in the main Chateau (Pauline) was large with beautiful furniture and a huge modern shower room in the turret. The bed was superbly comfortable as was the linen and comfortable pillow. We ate in the main restaurant which is incredibly beautiful, as was the food. If you are looking modern bed factory then do not come here, this property is for the traveller who is looking for a great accommodation and excellent service. Waking in a room such as this is quite an experience and we will look forward to returning. We asked for a 'quiet room' which overlooked the front of the Chateau, there is currently landscaping of a large lake to the rear, there was no works going on but it was not as picturesque as the front.

Beautiful chateau in lovely grounds

The chateau is lovely. The rooms in the chateau itself are large; each floor is divided into just four rooms. There is a degree of noise from a nearby road.
Our room was furnished with beautiful things.
It is an old building so you do get creaky floors. The bathroom was beautiful, modern and set in one of the corner towers.
The spa bath did not work and there were a couple of lights not working - minor points but I would expect better for the money.
Staff were very pleasant and spoke good English - useful for us!
We had the set menu, Inspiration, in the restaurant - no choice of dishes.
The starter and main were really lovely fish dishes but the final course was neither a cheese course nor a dessert; it was basically cheese on toast with a layer of not-very-tasty cherries in the middle and garnished with a huge bunch of yellowing and insect-nibbled salad leaves - and the toast was burnt and tough. I do hope this dish was an experiment by the chef but it really wasn't worthy of the label "gastronomique".
Breakfast was absolutely fine.

It is very expensive for what it is.
Bedding was really excellent.
Castle is nice.
Staff was helpful and nice.

Nevertheless it is really not worth the price.
It was 145€ for a room that is really basics at the end of the day.
It is far from being neat.
If you open the windows you can hear a loud freeway passing nearby.
There was nit hot water and we were told that the problem was known: good to hear.
Amenities are extremely limited. There is not even a soap bar. Shampoo is in bootle attached to the wall, so if you take a bath you have to stand up to get some Shampoo very ibis or motels way.
This is not four or five stars way.

A little gem in the countryside

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful chateau just recently, for a birthday. We stayed in the Louis room which is in the Pavilion, the room was to a high standard, the bed was so comfortable & wonderfully bright with double doors opening out onto a garden. Some of the party stayed in the main chateau & those room were even better. Would recommend them over the Pavilion. We had dinner & it was superb, a choice of menus at different prices to suit all budgets. The wine was a little on the expensive side. We also had breakfast & this was equally as good. The staff were great, one in particular went the extra mile which was appreciated. If you are looking for a rural retreat & have a special occasion coming up, this is the place to go!
