they just opened for regular travelers. The place is fantastic, though I agree with some
of the other visitors, that the interior is somewhat simplistic (or plastic as others call it). Having said that, the room itself which we had was very (!!) spacious and very nicely furnished in modern style. The location is just great and good to unwind from a trip. We were the only guests and apparently, we took breakfast in 'our' garden of the chateau. All in all, this is a highly recommendable place, which is definitely more worth than just a overnight stay while travelling through.
PS: The photos given on the hotel's webpage show very, very much the truth!!
Not quite !
Alanyetion 21/10/2012 12:33We fancied a change from motels and road-houses, so booked on-line. Perhaps it would have been a different experience if there had been more than two other guests ? The lack of people produced a slightly strange ambience.
That said, the welcome was good, and the staff very helpful and friendly. The location is eon the outskirts of a tiny village, a bit out of the way, and the Chateau stands in a small, but very pleasant estate, and from the exterior the building looks good. Inside has been refurbished, but with an eye more to functionality than to elegance - it feels a bit plastic.
Because of the lack of guests (ok, so it was October) there were no dining facilities (though St.Pourcain, about 10 minutes away by car, offers a reasonable choice of restaurants).
OK, but I doubt we'd bother to make the detour to visit again, despite the very pleasant people.
