Great Chateau
Albywonon 06/05/2017 22:06This really was a bargain luxury stay. We got a last minute deal for 72€ on a Friday night and pretty much had the place to ourselves. We would have stayed an extra night but they were booked out for a wedding party.
We had room 8 - large and well appointed with quality toiletries, a large bathroom and comfortable King Bed.
Lovely grounds and imposing Chateau.
We hope to stay again one day.

Gorgeous setting
theresa won 14/08/2015 22:52The hotel was in a very quiet setting, next to huge greenhouses although this did not detract from the beauty of the chateau. The staff were friendly and the only problem we had during our stay was the wifi was not very easily accessible.
Classy and comfortable
Baskingsealon 04/08/2015 23:28A two night stay in this small modernised Chateau which was formerly a Priory. Immaculately clean and bright there is a heated pool and a games room.
Breakfast was very French but was first class in every way.
Visit the Mercier Cave where you can get an excellent whiet for less than £4 and a brilliant white fizzy that's as good as a £20 champers for less than £6.
Fabulous hotel
saraWiltshireon 13/07/2015 19:48This place is sublime. We chanced upon it via an online hotel booking site and decided it looked good and we were certainly proved right. It is in a relatively un touristy area, probably too far from La Rochelle but only 15 minutes from the motorway. We were the only people staying on our first night and there is no restaurant but we went to the nearest town to eat and asked for a bottle of wine to be left for us when we returned. There it was, in an ice bucket with some melon sticks and we sat on the beautiful terrace overlooking the vineyard contemplating how beautiful it was. The following day we enjoyed a swim before breakfast in the delightful (heated) pool then had a typical French breakfast, buffet style, yogurt, cheese, bread etc. We spent the day in the forest to the north of Fountenay de Comte and it was breathtaking, especially Vouvens. We returned to spend the afternoon lazing by the pool. Although our room was a little small, the bathroom was quite spacious with two basins and a great shower. We would love to return. What a find!
Amazing
Lynne Hon 04/09/2014 13:56We stayed here for 3 nights mid July when it was scorching hot. We were staying in the old pigeon loft and it was amazing. It had 3 large windows with views to 3 different sides and it was lovely and cool. The setting, next to its own vineyard, was so quiet and peaceful.
The staff were amazing and for 2 nights we were the only people staying, so it was personal service. Everything was spotlessly clean and nothing was too much trouble. We had a very leisurely breakfast on the terrace every morning, no one was rushing us and there was plenty to eat, and very fresh too.
This is a fantastic place to stay, and I would recommend anyone to stay, and you certainly would not be disappointed. It is excellent value for money. We have paid more for rooms in chain hotels that are very tired and shabby
