This hotel has now sadly gone out of business. My wife and I were regular visitors and really miss staying at this wonderful house. If it ever re-opens then we will certainly again look to stay. We wish the previous owners all the best of luck as they were very kind to us over several years.

This Chateau is fantastic. The grounds are beautifully maintained. The rooms are fabulous. And the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. We had many requests of the staff and they helped us on all accounts. Special thanks to Rosine who helped us greatly! I highly recommend Chateau la Caniere.

Our family spend 2 nights at this remarkable chateau during our track through France this summer. Booking worked without any trouble and the restaurant even contacted us in order to know if we wanted to book table during our stay - even though the restaurant was not a part of the hotel, but a separate gourmet restaurant.
The property was spectacular with a well-kept pool area, pavilions in the garden to have drinks in while being shaded from the sun and the chateau itself was very well kept in an original "chateau theme". Our feeling was, that this place is very quiet and tranquil and sort of a "luxury week-end get-away" place for couples or small families.
We had a room at the 4.th floor that had everything (Aircon, large TV, above average Wifi quality etc.) except a water heater to make tea/coffee. Very nice view from the bedroom in all directions - just as we had hoped it would be.
The service in the front desk was very polite, helpful and courteous, even though it seemed like the receptionist took care of everything from serving drinks to manning the reception.
We did not try the breakfirst, because we slept long and would rather buy our own baguettes and cheese in the nearby towns and eat somewhere in the countryside or at the hotel room
The restaurant, that is situated just 50 meters away from the hotel, is a must-visit ! Outdoor dinner in the chateau park, great food, 16 A4 page wine menu and impeccable service are words that spring into mind. And the prices are very reasonable compared to the quality you get - do not miss out on that !
Surrounding towns seemed quite dissolate - only the bars and churches were open during our stay and no people in the streets at all - so we went to Riom (12 kilometers away) to do some shopping and sightseeing. Was a good experience, since the historic city centre is very authentic and the town has all the shopping and entertainment you can ask for.
All in all a great visit that we would highly recommend to everyone that want to try a chateau atmosphere with a very reasonable pricing !

Stayed here travelling on our way back to the UK.
We were upgraded to an executive suite which was well appointed with a large king sized bed. Separate bathroom and Loo, downside was the shower head had to be held. Staff very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent.

We stayed here for 1 night and really enjoyed the surroundings and the pool for 2 days. Restaurant Le Lavoisier, part of the hotel, was lovely as well with very nice food, although it was quite expensive. Room with separate bathroom was great. Wonderful king size bed! Very peaceful place!! Definatelly coming back!
