pdblake_fijion 15/02/2017 19:15My daughter and I visited Florence for a holiday in mid Feb 2017. We found the Cicerone Guest House on Booking.com...offering very attracine room rates. I took the chance and booked...with the idea that we would be spending so much time in actually visits the sights in Florence that we really wouldn't be spending a lot of time hanging around the hotel.
On arrival we found that The Cicerone was in a very popular part of Florence and just 450m from the main railway station. Just along the same street were several and diverse eateries....leather goods shops...an extensive flea market for those bargain hunters (my daughter couldn't tear herself away from) and a variety of amenities...ie barbers shops, laundramat etc.
The Guest House itself was unassuming and passage to it was via a large door on the busy main and up two flights of stais. Entering into the Guest House we were welcomed and shown our room. Again nothing assuming or out of the ordinary...but it was cosy, nice beds with clean sheets and linen....a smallish bathroom/toilet and with a tv and free WiFi. P
There were no room tea/coffee making facilities but this was provided communally in the foyer 24/7. An adequate free continental breakfast was provided in a dedicated dining room between 8-10am.
Our host was gracious and very helpfull in helping us with all our needs and enquires. We only stayed the two nights here, but it was stress free and comfortable.

Fabio Son 10/08/2016 16:21Whenever I travel around, I look for something that has an excellent location, a local style and at the same time it's comfortable lets me feel like at home. That is the case of Cicerone Guest House, right in the centre of Florence, easy connected to the station and to all the other venues in city and surroundings by bus, cheap but extremely comfortable, with style and a positive atmosphere also thanks to Nina, the manager of the B&B. Nice rooms, very good breakfast, clean and well furnished. Excellent WIFI connection. 5 minutes by walk to the main art destination of the city. Go & Try!
Nice and spacious B&B at the City Center
mingming777on 01/08/2016 17:12The room was very spacious and clean, but we found the shower area to be very small. Daily maintenace was done and all basic needs were provided, except for a safety vault that we deem very necessary. Breakfast had a good variety. Checking in and out were convenient.
The property is a 10-15 minute walk from the main train station and some of the main attractions like Galleria dell'Accademia, Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Da Vinci Museum, and Catthedrale di Santa Maria Del Fiore. Cafes, restaurants and supermarkets are everywhere.

Paulthegreat86on 14/07/2016 00:54Less than 10min walk from S.M.N train station and the Duomo. Very helpful staff. Room was tidy and clean. Very good Wifi and hot water all the time The breakfast was basic but more than enough to start your day. The check in procedure is slightly weird. You ring a doorbell and be sure to say your name and that you are a guest that just arrived so they will let you in. Neighborhood has many mini markets and small independent coffee shops. Would definitely recommend it!

10 minutes walk from the train station in Florence, Firenze Santa Maria Novella (quite a mouthful). We were greeted by the very friendly owner and shown to our nice room. After a good night's sleep on comfortable beds and quiet air con, we had a good breakfast with pastries, bread, ham, cheese, cerial, yogurt, fruit and tea (unlike the lousey Hotel Marcantonio in Rome). No complaints, it is only a guest house. One flight of stairs to walk up may not suit everyone.
