What People are saying

Great quality of service

Alain Lon 04/08/2017 06:27

The Goods:
The location of the hotel near JR Shinjuku station Metro stations, restaurants and shopping malls which is convenient.
The staffs are sincere and helpful which you should love it.
The room is clean and tidy which you should feel comfortable.

Need improved:
The internet service is slow as there are many residents staying.
The breakfast is getting poorer and poorer year by year. Limited selection, temperature of the hot dishes need to improve. Fruit didn't refill to satisfy the needed for the customers.

Great location, friendly staff, small rooms

At first glance, it seems like a typical business hotel. But inside, it's really clean and nice. Rooms feel more spacious than they look. After a long sweaty day of walking around the city, the high pressure shower is bomb

Location can't be beat. Shinjuku is a super fun area. Golden Gai is right next door for drinks in tiny bars with fellow travelers. Train station is a 5-10 minute walk away.

Staff is super friendly. They were able to hold our luggage when we checked out for a few days to go explore Kyoto and Osaka for a few days, which was amazingly helpful.

Excellent in every regard

This was our first trip to Japan. We were in touch with hotel personnel in advance to request a room that suited our preferences. In this regard and in every other we were grateful for how friendly and accommodating the staff was! Our room was immaculate, in good repair, and well attended during the course of our stay. We enjoyed the daily breakfast. The hotel was conveniently situated and we enjoyed evening strolls in the brightly lit streets. Also, we enjoyed the view from our room which was on an upper floor as we had requested.

We were thoroughly happy with this hotel. We definitely benefited from our advance read of other people's recommendations.

In the heart of Shinjuku

This is our second time staying at this hotel (we stayed 6 nights). It is really well situated and the staff are very helpful! They helped us with all our queries without hesitation.
It is only a 5-10 min walk to the metro and the train station and near all kinds of shops and restaurants.

The only downside with this hotel is that the rooms and double beds are very small.

Good Value, Tiny Rooms

The Citadines, originally an apartment hotel concept, has been transposed to Tokyo where it preserved the affordable rates but somehow jettisoned the spacious element of the apartment (which is, after all, quite logical). It's worth mentioning as the web site pictures give an impression of spacious, airy rooms with plenty of natural lights and the reality is just one notch below that. There are two Citadines hotels in Shinjuku so make sure you chose the right one for your own requirements not least in terms of district and proximity to train and subway stations. Kabukicho is a lively district, apparently not enjoying a very good reputation with the locals, but all is relative and we have found it to be entirely safe, plus the presence of touts in the street is not the preserve of Kabukicho, you used to have quite a few in Akasaka as well. The Hotel is very well served in terms of subway, although it can be a nightmare to find the right exit and you will end up using Godzilla as a landmark to guide you. The rooms are generally nice if a bit tiny (but still not as tiny as other places such as the Mitsui City Garden) and the furnishings are a bit more tired that the web pictures would suggest. Rather quiet for the district, good bedding and functional bathroom. Friendly front desk. Final note: Citadines are now part of The Ascott hotel chain and if you register on their web site you will get immediate discounted priced for your stay.
