Small Rooms, but Great Location
Donna Ron 26/07/2017 23:35The rooms were very small, but that is not surprising in Europe. It was an older hotel with some quirks....or some may say charm. Parking was about a block away and I did have trouble finding the parking garage. They hotel did pay for the parking garage. The breakfast was good. There was a good variety and choices. The selection of food should please everyone. We liked it. It is on the bus line. My son was visiting a high school friend and he arrived on the bus, and the boys went out for the evening using the bus. The most important things were the cleanliness of the hotel, the friendliness of the staff, and we felt safe.
Do not visit in summer - no air conditioning
Matthew Mon 14/06/2017 07:38I'm going to start with the positives, and there are a few. Location is great. Most of the bus lines (including the one from the airport) stop within a block of the hotel. It is very close to the main train station and shopping areas. The breakfast (albeit in a basement) was actually pretty good and on par with most other continental breakfast buffets. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful overall. Now on to the negatives...
Wow, there are several big ones here. My room was very small, especially the bathroom, which is right next to the bed (a little odd). The bed was of poor quality and the pillows even worse. Flat and lumpy. But the climate and noise are the big issues at this hotel. I mentioned location earlier, but the bad side is that you get city noise. A lot of it. My side of the hotel was on a very narrow, noisy street with many trucks and motorcycles. You might think closing the window and the shade is the answer, and admittedly it does cut down the noise considerably. But as I said in the title of the review, the room does not have air conditioning. Just a fan. So if you want to keep the noise out, your room is going to get progressively warmer and stuffier as the night goes on. It was not unbearable - I did eventually get to sleep, but it took a long time and was never comfortable. Perhaps in cooler times of the year you could tolerate it but I would only recommend opening the window if you are deaf or just one of those people who are able to tune out city noise.
I would not stay here again, despite the relatively low cost. Bus service is cheap and convenient in Luxembourg, so it is practical to find a hotel that is not in the heart of the city.
NOT a 4-star hotel!
anne mon 05/06/2017 20:08Good location and friendly staff but NOT a 4-star hotel! Very disappointing! Very hot room with no air-conditioner, no privacy in the bathroom (thin sliding door), cold shower (water stopped running inexplicably after 5 minutes), very noisy and parking is NOT free. Would not recommend this hotel for a stay in Luxembourg City.

KEFinnmanon 09/04/2017 18:15As I read in an earlier Review. "The standards are staisfactory". The location is excellent though. Close to railway and buses. Thus also good availability to the Airport. Its 35 € by taxi or 2 € by bus to the Airport. The hotel is good enough to stay a couple of nights. Im not impressed of their kitchen though. But that is a matter of taste. The staff could probably also smile a little more to their guests.
