Great Hotel for Stag weekend
Paulandrewgardneron 04/07/2017 15:27Decent hotel, good bar and restaurant attached, near to local bars but a few mins walk to the main square. (found a lovely little bar round the corner with outside seating. Was vsiting for a stag weekend so bunk beds in rooms. All ice and clean tho so happy days. (and very cheap)
Good location, terrible service
Russell Son 06/06/2017 13:17The staff are rude and are only interested in getting euros off you. They seem extra arrogant when it comes to english customers. If you book one of the rooms with bunk beds they wont make any top bunk despite you paying extra for a larger room. Then if you don't make the top bunk and even if nobody sleeps in the bed they put a 20euro charge per bed. The maids dont swap towels out the room. One of our rooms had a faulty shower rail when we arrived so when attempted to use it, it broke off. We was promptly charged 55euro for something that would cost only a few euro. Every day we stopped we visited the hotel bar and paid tips however on our last day before closing time we started ordering a round of drinks which they stopped half way and said it was too late but served half the group. The location was ok but service poor and seemed alot worse when it come to english customers.
Average, but central location
caad9on 25/05/2017 13:13Leipziger Strasse is not the most exiting street, being quite heavily trafficked but it is just minutes of walking to cafes and sights in Gendarmenmarkt area. Small reception area so not the best place to wait for your taxi to the airport.
Overcharged on my credit card
Howyb2011on 09/02/2017 23:02Stayed here in Jan for 3 nights room not cleaned, deposit not returned supposedly for cleaning and to cap it all a £160 charge on my credit card with no explanation from the hotel this is now in the hands of my credit card company. AVOID at all costs they are dishonest and staff are rude
Bad service at good location
capecoraljayon 29/11/2016 21:14This is an update on my earlier review of this hotel. I feel the need to do so as I think this hotel is in desperate need of arriving in the 21st century.
The rooms are modest, but ok - however, the internet is not free and above all, after paying € 12.50 for a day, I'm confronted with ridiculously slow internet. A "quick" test showed me a bandwidth of 1.78 MB down and 0.34 MB up.
Furthermore, a simple request for a corkscrew was refused with no effort whatsoever in trying to accommodate me. Rude person at the front desk.
Last time I've been here.
