What People are saying
Great value, convenient
polly con 11/03/2016 06:48It's located right on the subway line 2, about a 3 minute walk from the hotel front door to the subway station. From here, you can reach almost all destinations via subway. It's also a 10 minute walk from People's Park, and 5 minute walk to the famous Narrow-Wide Alley, and a 5 minute walk to Qin Tai road where there are more old stuff. A convenient store is right next door. Across the street is a department/grocery store, and loads of food stalls.
The hotel itself has surprisingly comfortable beds and sheets. The bathroom is of decent size with a fairly large shower tub. AC in room. The carpet looks a little old, but in general it's very clean.
The only thing to look out for is that the hotel has 2 washer/dryer combo machines. They don't dry clothes completely. That's just how they are. I had to let the cloths dried in my room for a day after laundry. The AC has a dehumidifier built in, so even my jeans dried after 8 hours. But plan your laundry (25¥ per load) accordingly. Don't expect to wear the clothes right after laundry.
Great value, good service, excellent location. I will definitely stay here again.
Manage your expectations and it is a great-value hotel

Good location - 50m to subway station (2-3 stops to city center), RenRen supermarket, KuanZhai Alley. 1 convenience shop beside the hotel entrance.
We booked twin room which was clean, comfortable, spacious, modern (for a chinese hotel) and had good lighting (at night). There are 2 wide single beds, 1 long desk, 1 chair, air-conditioner, mosquito repellent, kettle, 2 free bottles of water daily.
The toilet was spacious, clean, good lighting and has a short clothes line. Shower gel, disposable toothbrush and comb are provided.
Breakfast (till 10am) - buffet of 5+ chinese dishes: rice, noodle, porridge, accompanying condiments, buns, 2-3 vegetables, boiled egg, etc. 'Western' options are bread (there is a toaster) and fruit cordial.
Facilities - Laundry room is on ground floor. 25RMB per usage. No dryer machine.
CONS
Wifi was poor / slow connectivity.
Room had no wardrobe (only 1 wall rail with 3 hangers), safe or mini fridge. Thin door/walls (typical of chinese hotels) meant you can hear if noisy guests walked passed your room. Pillow was 'thin'.
Facilities - Only 1 lift to service 7 floors of guests. Reception did not accept foreign credit card. Room key card often failed so we kept going to the reception to 'update' it.
Breakfast - No hot beverages such as tea/coffee.
Comfortable
jake won 25/12/2014 15:29If you're looking for an inexpensive, clean room for the night, this will suit perfectly.
We were here as part of a tour and it provided a good nights stay.
Only a short walk to a local park which was nice.
Don't do it
Juliet02on 27/11/2014 07:00Do not stay here. Stopped here for 2 nights during a tour. It is filthy, carpets disgusting, bathrooms not clean. It's very seedy and I didn't understand why there were condoms in the bedrooms???!!! It's obviously a budget hotel but it's standards are very very poor.
does exactly what it says on the tin
john don 14/02/2014 19:19This is a fine cheap clean and comfortable accommodation in a nice part of the city. Its on a main road close to the metro. You are right in the old town with a short enough walk to downtown central. The wi- fi is free and is excellent and they even throw in a good breakfast. I stayed for two nights with my wife and 2 year old son. Its not ideal for toddlers though as this is really a standard business hotel - so be careful of those sharp corners lest your little one bangs their head against something. I would stay here happily anytime.
