What People are saying

A perfect stay!

HelloGdWon 16/08/2017 19:21

A much awaited trip for the family. We had the most relaxing, enjoyable stay in this quintessentially colonial feeling hotel. The team, lead by the ever charismatic GM Eric are friendly, helpful and nothing is a bother, how wonderful when one wants a relaxing time to unwind. Breakfast buffet is generous, and réflectif of local products. Beautiful, clean and comfortable bedroom. We all look forward to next year, for another special trip. Well done CocoReef and the team.

Anniversary trip

Great service and friendly staff. The view was amazing and so was the pool. Won't mind visiting again. The beach view room was definitely the best option for a touch of romance and the place is in walking distance to the airport as well as Store Bay.

Disappointed

Nadia Aon 04/08/2017 15:25

Honestly I was very excited to visit! Was very disappointed.
Cons:
1. The smell at some parts of the hotel is horrible.
2. Very run down! Desperately needs some TLC.
3. Drapes in my room had mildew.
4. On an all inclusive plan but was still told I had to make reservations for dinner.
5. Some servers served the "white" better than the locals. I belive I paid to be treated the same as every guest at the hotel.
6. Way over priced!
7. Pool not kid friendly.
8. Dinner was not appealing at all! Neither was the taste! You simply do not boil split peas and dump it in a bowl and say it's soup! Very limited in options! Kids meals at dinner very disappointing!
9. Towels looked like they needed throwing away!
10. Housekeeping even forgot to put towels twice during my 3 night stay.
11. Wifi sucks! With that price wifi should be better!

Pros:
1. The beach.
2. Breakfast.
3. Lunch
4. Jus a couple servers. Sorry don't have their names.

In all I think this hotel has so much potential! I've stayed at cheaper hotels in Tobago and it was so much cleaner and food was so much better! Even free wifi at all points of the hotel. I am so disappointed in this hotel!

Beautiful Hotel in an amazing location

happyshopper65on 02/08/2017 14:21

Recently returned from a 2wk stay. The hotel is at the end of a sweeping driveway lined with palm trees and stunning gardens. As you enter you can see right through to the beautiful beach beyond. It really is a beautiful hotel, the private beach is amazing and it is great fun to swim with the fish. Our room was spacious and pleasant, the bathroom could do with updating and we had a couple of issues with the tap but a call to maintenance and this was very quickly rectified. The only real negative is the lack of free wifi, this is fairly standard now in most hotels and although it is available in one area of the hotel, we didn't manage to connect. We were quite happy to leave the outside world behind though so didn't pursue this. The staff were friendly and helpful and the managers went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant stay. The location is perfect, a stone's throw from the airport and 2 local beaches either side that are a 2 minute walk. Outside are many bars, restaurants and street food outlets. We had a wonderful sea view (room 238). The hairdryer worked well and having a fridge was great for keeping water cool. Being able to drink the tap water was a bonus too. We spent several evenings watching the incredible sunsets whist sitting on the jetty enjoying the high jinx of the lads on the jet ski's, sunset is playtime it seems. Eric the manager and Esther the assistant manager were exceptional with their service, we felt like friends by the end of our stay. This really is a gem of a hotel and a perfect base to explore the amazing island of Tobago.

Great Setting

We spent 3 days at Coco Reef in mid July. Always wanted to visit Trinidad and Tobago, so we decided to spend a couple days in Tobago after a week in Grenada. The Coco Reef has several great features that would give us reason to go back. The hotel is located only 2 minutes from the airport. The hotel setting is beautiful with a wonderful protected beach. There is a rock jetty that provides for a very calm beach area for swimming and snorkeling. The snorkeling was great, especially on the outside of the jetty. Lots of shade on the beach and if you are a scuba diver, there is a great dive shop, Undersea Tobago, right on the beach. We were on the half board plan which entitled us to breakfast and dinner at the resort. The breakfast was buffet style and it was very good. While we were there the main dining area was the only restaurant opened for dinner. The men were required to wear long pants and collared shirts for dinner....no exceptions! The dinner menu varied slightly every night,,,,but even though items were on the menu, that didn't mean that they were available. The service in the dining area left a lot to be desired. The staff was not very friendly, spoke barely above a wispier and seemed to hoover. As soon as we would finish our last bite of food, our plates would be cleared. If we asked for something, the servers seems to be bothered.by the request. The only staff at the resort that we found to be friendly were the people at the reservation desk and at the entrance to the dining room.. They were always helpful and said hello. As for the room, ours was just a standard hotel room with a bathroom that was in need of an upgrade. The maid service was adequate that could occur at any time during the day.
