What People are saying

1 night stay

I really like this place, its set in stunning surroundings and the grounds are beautiful, its a great base from which to explore the surrounding area if you you have a bit of time.
The rooms are very comfortable having been quite recently refurbished, the outdoor pool is great, the spa facilities are ok..could do with a make over but serve their purpose well enough.
Food was really good, very interesting combinations and lots of veggie options...breakfast is very good. staff are all friendly and helpful (if a little inexperienced but you have to start somewhere). I would definitely recommend CGM and intend to go back soon as no far for us and perfect for a mini break.

Amazing views and all very pleasant staff. Part of the hotel grounds required works. But all the internal upkeep of hotel was very clean and pleasant to be in. Bathroom and room was beautiful in main hotel building. Only disappointing part was the breakfast was advertised as "full English" this was not the case. Although. Sry nice food it wasn't overly for my pallet and the full English was the deal breaker for the slightly higher cost of this hotel.

We used uber to travel into Bath city for days and evenings out. This worked well.

I would return!

Wonderful place and experience

While there are many Manor house hotels in England , this one has one of the best staffs I've encountered , and I travel internationally a lot and design resort. These people really enjoy being there and it shows. Of course it's a beautiful property, has great amenities for families and groups, great location, the rooms are very nice , art exhibitions are great , and the restaurant top notch. Wish we could've spent more time there - hope to return.

Disappointing

We came along for afternoon tea and were glad we were able to bring our dog along with us. We were only able to eat in the lounge or outside because of this but I fully understand. As it was a little too cool for outside we chose the lounge. Big mistake - soulless and scruffy! Completely silent and mismatched sofas and chairs, mostly with nylon covers. The afternoon tea was all served together on one slab and although we were offered a choice of tea, when my husband arrived later he wasn't offered his choice. The food consisted of three fingers sandwiches (one of which was courgette and peppers!!), two scones, a small slice of banana cake and a triangle of chocolate brownie. For £20 a head this was a very ordinary experience which I won't be repeating. In their favour, the staff were pleasant and welcoming and the grounds are beautiful. I just feel I wasted £60 when I could have spent half at Patisserie Valerie and got a far superior experience!

Ideal hotel for health fanatics

40 steps to get up to the balcony bedrooms - but the views mentioned on the web-site are obscured by trees. The terrace rooms have cars parked in front of the rooms so very
little to see of the view. The breakfast menu ignores those who look forward to an
English breakfast, and again this is not mentioned on the web-site.
