Reasonable price compared to nearby hotels
elvalicia1on 09/07/2017 04:27We were in town for a band camp for our son and we needed a place that was pet friendly at a decent price. So we booked this hotel based on location and price. I usually prefer the top floor, but since we had a small dog we had no choice but to stay on the 1st floor. The hallway carpets are pretty bad with spots and smells of dog they need a good cleaning. Our room faced the small airport across the street but we NEVER heard any of the helicopters or planes as you do when you are outside so the rooms are pretty well insulated. We also NEVER heard any of the neighbors next or above us which I've got to say was a nice surprise. The beds and pillows are pretty comfy and the breakfast consisted of potatoes, eggs and sausages one day, then biscuits and gravy the next day and bacon the next of course waffles, yogurt, cereal etc. We didn't have time to check out the outdoor swimming pool and sauna. They have lots of parking and over all a pretty good stay.
Absolutely disgraceful in terms of cleanliness and management
diehrwolfon 19/06/2017 16:30We checked in on June 8th after driving a little over 17 hours straight. I decided to pull over and rest for the night. We chose the Comfort Inn because of its generally decent reviews and price for the room. We drove up and at first glance the hotel seemed OK, then went inside and the reception area was well lit and warm/welcoming. The attendant behind the counter was nice. We paid for our room and walked to the back left of the hotel to room 179.
When we were walking to our room, we noticed the entire lower wing smelled like a wet dog.
When we entered our room, we noticed the windows looked like they had NEVER been washed.
The carpet had several dark stains, which were easy to point out, and is sad if you can say that at all since it was a dark green carpet.
The bathroom had mold on the corners above the tub, and was clear it was a problem in the past by the bulges in the ceiling, which you can also tell they decided to just paint over the old mold spots instead of addressing the issue.
The floor was warped at the entrance of the room and the walls had cracks in the coat closet.
Some of the lights in the room didn't work.
We pulled back the sheets of one of the beds to see if it was like the rest of the room. The sheets seemed to be cleaned, but based on the cleanliness of the hotel thus far, we didn't want to chance sleeping under the covers... or on them at this point.
The pool had scum on the surface, and debris at the bottom. Big surprise at this point that it hadn't been taken care of.
The back door that had a card reader on it didn't work.
Now at this point we were trying to decide what to do. Stay in the hotel for the night, or to leave because we had paid $129 for a room that didn't at all meet our expectations for how much we had to pay for it. My wife had used the bathroom, I made the bed we had pulled back to inspect, we grabbed our things, and loaded up the car. Now at this point we were in the room for 90 minutes, give or take 5 minutes. At the front desk I spoke to the attendant again and told her we'd like to check out and a refund for the room. She said she could check us out, but wanted to know why we had decided to leave. I kindly told her the points aforementioned, and she apologized and expressed that the was sorry the room did not meet our expectations. She then said she could not refund us as the general manager, Crystal, would need to do it after inspecting the room. The attendant assured as that as long as nothing was wrong with the room that we had done, that the refund wouldn't be a problem. Crystal was not going to be in until the morning, so we decided to trust she would do the right thing, and we left.
We noticed the following day that we were billed for the room. I called and spoke to another attendant who said our request for a refund was denied because there was trash in the trash can and the bathroom was used. I said it is unacceptable to charge people $129 for using a trash can and a toilet. She said she could not run the refund, but to call back when Crystal, who denied the refund, was there M-F from 8am-11am. I called on Monday at 10am and asked to speak to Crystal. Susan, the assistant manager, said she was unavailable and asked if she could help. We explained we'd like a refund and went through all the details with her. She also refused to refund us and said she'd discuss the details with Crystal and would call us back, and also that the the refund was denied because the room was not resellable. Outraged, I expressed it wasn't sellable in the first place. The next day, no call came. I called again, now Crystal was in a meeting and couldn't talk to us. The attendant told us she'd have her call us. No call came again. I called again, she was unavailable. The same thing the next day, and the day after. At this point it was clear she was just screening our calls.
Moral of the story, always inspect the hotel room before paying.
1 soda in a trash can, and 1 use of a toilet costs $129 in a rundown establishment.

Darla Hon 12/06/2017 03:08Nice rooms, the beds were comfortable but a to soft for me, next time I'll ask for a firm bed. Staff was great, breakfast was very good and the coffee was nice and strong and was very good. The location was convenient.
Very Good Location & Good Price
Peter con 27/04/2017 01:45Stayed for 4 days, while visiting family. VERY Convenient to many Hillsborough areas, restaurants, etc. Good price. Very Good Breakfast - as good as they get w/o using an adjoining restaurant.
Very Good Service - +++ to Lyn from the Philippines. I wanted to change rooms for a better view for reading during the day & she VERY MUCH accommodated us. Plus, located my wife's robe & towel that I had forgotten to transfer - THANKS LYN! She also made sure the Hot Tub was up to snuff.
The room was a very nice size. The hallway carpets were older & could at least use stretching, but that was the only real "older" aspect I noted.
Management - if you stretch the carpet, it would be less noticeable!
Older hotel with pros and cons
vbarshison 21/04/2017 20:38This is obviously an older property with no elevator. The room was small, but very clean, and it was quiet (located in the back away from traffic). The bed was unusually soft for a C. Inn (I prefer firm), and the wifi kept cutting out. The breakfast was good. I'd stay here again for a short time if the rate is right.
