Clifty Falls Hike
tcsawon 03/06/2017 23:46Four of us stayed overnight for an early morning hike the next day through Clifty Falls State Park. We arrived late evening, and were greeted warmly. The room was nice and clean and close to the Park. Fueled up on the complimentary breakfast before our 10 mile hike. Would stay again.
Very Disappointing
She291on 23/05/2017 16:01I have never felt inclined to leave a bad review for any business until now. Power was out from the moment we arrived due to a bad storm, which I understand is out of everyone's control; however, it was very hot out and with no A/C it was miserable.
They had no flashlights to offer. Had to walk through pitch black halls and stairwells, which was oddly scary. The front desk informed us they had no power the night before due to storms as well, so one would think that they might had been a little bit more prepared since it was well known that more storms were in the forecast. The WORST part was that we had to wear shoes in the bathroom because the floor was STICKY as if maybe (I was hoping) housekeeping cleaned it with cleaner and didn't rinse it off. There were used shampoo/conditioner/body wash bottles left in the shower. I couldn't wait to get out of this place. We were given a $20 discount when we arrived, not because the power was out, but because I could've gotten the room $20 cheaper on hotel.com and I discussed this with the front desk. We brought up our concerns the next morning and the front desk said to call back the next day when the manager was there. Called the next day and was told the manager would call me back. She didn't call until the NEXT day, and was rude and defensive right off the bat. We were offered no compensation for this gross dirty room after sitting in darkness all night. Free breakfast was....just yuck. Honestly, the whole experience was so bad, I'm considering contacting the Choice Hotels corporate office about it. I grew up inside the hotel management environment, so I think that is why I am so shocked at how horrible our experience was.
Southern Hospitality & Value
rsmithcandoon 08/05/2017 15:20Our recent stay at Comfort Inn Madison rates as one of our family's top hotel stays of all time. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and QUIET. Pool was cozy, CLEAN, and cared-for. Complimentary Breakfast Bar variety was ABUNDANT and tasty. Best of all, service by every person there was FRIENDLY, helpful, and welcoming! Location was CONVENIENT to highway, college, attractions. Prices reasonable and AFFORDABLE. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant experience!
Staycatuon Made Me Wish I Stayed Home
Michaelwareon 25/03/2017 19:33I live in downtown Madison, (which is an mrs of a village than a town), and I LOVE IT! And, I am a Diamond Elite Member of the Choice Privileges Hotels. So, when I say to you that this particular hotel sucks, I have some experience to draw from. First of all, if you have any cell phone service beside Verizon you will likely not get service in the hotel. Secondly, for the price you could stay at Clifty Falls or in a B&B downtown. And, finally, the staff has no idea about customer service and the breakfast is a joke. But, Madison itself is a pleasure to visit. So, please come enjoy our wonderful city but, if you can avoid it, don't stay at the Comfort Suites
Think small
Nancy Won 14/03/2017 18:16I stayed here recently while my son did an overnight visit at nearby Hanover College. The location is perfect - less than a mile to the school, a very quick drive to the riverfront and Clifty Falls State Park. The hotel is small. There are 3 floors, but the rooms are small. I booked a room with a king size bed. With a mini fridge, microwave, desk with chair and another chair, it was a small space. There is no fitness center, so I took a walk in Madison instead. The indoor pool is small. Put a couple of good sized whirlpool tubs together and you have the pool. There were only 2 or 3 people in it when I walked by and it looked crowded. If you like to work out in your hotel while traveling, this is not the hotel for you. If you just want to sleep in between things, it works.
Props to the front desk staff for checking me in while simultaneously checking in a very large church group. The breakfast offerings were decent too.
