Exorbitant price for average hotel room
Patrick Gon 09/06/2017 04:22We were visiting Statesboro for our granddaughter's high school graduation. The staff was friendly and helpful but the room was average. On the plus side we liked the reading lights hanging down on both sides of the bed but the bathroom was in need of upgrades. It looked like the room had been painted recently but they had not caulked which left cracks and the fixtures were all badly scratched up and needed replacement. Even if everything had been perfect the room was way too expensive especially for Statesboro and not on a GSU football weekend or college graduation. I had booked the room several weeks earlier and was surprised at how much it was but the hotel we normally stay at was booked. They did not appear to be very busy so I'm not sure why they thought they could charge that much but in any case we will look elsewhere next time.
Staesboro Blues
Razorback11on 28/05/2017 17:58We traveled to Statesboro for a baseball tournament and our anniversary in May. Our normal hotel choices had been grabbed up by the participating teams so I decided to try Comfort Inn and Suites.
The only positive thing I can say about our stay was the location was convenient and the room was quiet.
We had several negative issues during our stay.
First, the hotel jacked up their rates to take advantage of the sold-out situation due to the tournament.
There has been an attempt at updating the rooms. The paint was fresh as was the carpet but no wall coverings (pictures) had been replaced leaving stark, bare walls. The hotel is older as is the air conditioning. Ours was a suite with plenty of room. However, there was one traditional A/C unit in the bedroom with no ventilation to the living area or bathroom. There was a make-shift exhaust fan installed in the connecting wall between the bedroom and living area, but it was non-functional. I reported the problem but no repair was made. As the heat increased during the week, the comfort level went down accordingly.
The toilet flush handle was broken. I repaired it three times myself and finally on the last day of our stay the hotel staff replaced the faulty handle.
On one day of our stay there was no towel service in our room. We came in hot, tired and sweaty from a day at the tournament with no way to shower. I called the front desk and was told I could come get more towels. I asked if they could bring to the room since I was already undressed and the answer was no.
Unless you want to experience the famous Statesboro blues....avoid this less than mediocre property.
Comfort Inn and Suites in Statesboro, GA
MSO70on 24/05/2017 00:57First of all the address listed can not be found on your GPS or iPhone. I had to call the Comfort Inn to find out I needed to use 93 Briarwood Lane. I wished I would have known that sooner instead of getting frustrated for no good reason. Our room looked like someone was going to paint. There were white patches in quite a few places. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. Happily we only stayed for one night and the price was within our budget.
Two strickes your out
Ladysetoniaon 13/05/2017 01:00On two different occasions my family decided to use this hotel. Niether stay was pleasent.
On our first visit we were given a room that was still occupied. The room that we was movied to had roaches. The bathroom floor looked as if it had not been cleaned in a while. The pool is out doors, so the leaves had accumulated in it. Very unappealing.
Our second stay again we were given a room and again it was still occupied by other guest. In the room we were moved to, the bathroom was still dirty. I purchsed cleaning supplies so that my family could use it.
Location is great, price is good, just not clean.
Comfortable with good access to highways
Lara Bon 13/04/2017 17:43This Comfort Inn had a welcoming atmosphere, a friendly desk clerk, and a clean lobby. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I didn't have any complaints with the air conditioning. Breakfast was average for a hotel buffet. I liked the easy access to main thoroughfares. The only con was that there was more than one drunk patron staggering in, which is par for the course since the Master's golf tournament was going on. Overall this was a decent stay.
