We stayed here while in town for a dance function in Northampton. The price was too inflated for the weekend - double what it is today . My room smelt mildewy. The chair had a huge stain. The bed was so uncomfortable that I had a stiff neck the next day. The regular price of $100/night is all it was worth. Definitely not the $200 I payed for one night.

Not a good choice for women traveling solo

nhprncsson 21/07/2017 17:05

This hotel is inexpensive and that's reflected in the shabby rooms, the overwhelming smell of chemical cleaning agents throughout, etc. If you don't mind that and want a cheap room, this is a fine choice.

HOWEVER... as a female traveling solo, I felt both uncomfortable and unsafe at this hotel and would not recommend it to other solo female travelers. Part of that was due to factors not caused by the hotel (but also not addressed by the hotel staff), and part of that was due to the lack of awareness of the desk clerk.

When I arrived at the hotel, there was a crowd of men who I assume were construction workers using the hotel as a home base. They were in two distinct groups - a few in the front lobby and a large group hanging out in the back parking lot.

In the front lobby, a couple of these gentlemen directly behind me in line to check in. In handing me my key, the clerk said aloud, "You're in room ___." As a woman traveling solo, I am always careful about keeping my room number to myself, but the clerk had just announced it to the men behind me.

When I moved my car to the back parking lot, I found a pickup truck with a larger group of men drinking, smoking, and generally being loud and somewhat obnoxious. I had to walk past them knowing they were watching me and where I was going.

All in all, I was terribly uncomfortable and nervous about my safety. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. (A sign on the front desk said that they are preparing to convert to a Rodeway Inn in the first half of next year.)

Had a good night in their one-king-bed suite

Yuting_13on 04/07/2017 02:24

We had 2 adults and 1 baby (1 year old). We stayed in a 1-king bed suite where the bedroom and living room are separate by a second door, making the bedroom quiet, which was good for putting baby into sleep. The full-size sofa bed in the living room doesn't have strong frame to support and so it is not recommended for 2 people sleeping on it.

Very comfortable, affordable option for the area

NewEnglandMimon 24/06/2017 02:17

We stayed here while visiting Northampton, where there aren't a lot of options for lodging. This offered the best rates and we found the room very clean, quiet and comfortable. Wonderful beds, lots of pillows, great shower, pleasant staff. We also liked that it has an indoor pool, though we didn't get around to using it. Breakfast is the usual fare, not great but filling. Many others seemed to go for the waffles, but I was happy with yogurt and a bagel. Would definitely stop here again when I need a hotel in the area.

great place to spend the night when visiting UMASS or Amherst college

Room was clean, quiet, and had a refrigerator and coffee maker. Best part was breakfast in the morning, free with stay for everyone, yogurt, juice and coffee(available all day) waffles, cereals, eggs, sausage, english muffins, peanut butter, jelly, butter, even greek yogurt.
The indoor pool was super clean, a good temperature and nice with towels available along with a shower and changing room.
