Overnight stay on the road, very nice
xhoosierjs1on 10/08/2017 15:02Nice quiet room, good breakfast, friendly & helpful staff (desk clerk looked up directions to a local college and printed it out for me, then gave me her additional directions). Rather firm bed but comfy. Quiet stay and a very clean, well-maintained facility. Only complaint: a very strong smell of some sort of cleaner that permeated every place in the building.
Good stay
Travis Son 09/08/2017 03:42Good stay. I really don't have any complaints. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The hot breakfast was good with plenty for everyone. Staff was quick to care for our needs. Would stay here again.
Clean, comfortable & friendly!
Ann Bon 25/06/2017 18:56This location was everything my husband and I have come to rely on with the Choice Hotels chain. Beautifully maintained lobby and rooms. Rooms are clean comfortable and everything worked. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast area and choices as well.
Never again at this hotel- terrible!
SAinPAon 17/06/2017 02:47My wife and I have been staying in Comfort/Choice hotels for years. Most are decent, clean, friendly hotels.
This one is probably the worst Choice hotel that we have ever visited. We made a reservation on line at the Choice website weeks ago, guaranteed the reservation, and provided our Choice Hotels membership info. We requested a quiet room away from the interstate.
We had considered this particular hotel for years as it is a great stopping point on our regular trips from PA to Arkansas but they do not accept dogs. Normally we bring our dog but not this year.
We found the hotel by using our GPS since the turns off the road are not marked with signs. We drove through a neighborhood, through the Bob Evans parking lot and then to the hotel.
The paint on the outside of the building is in poor condition and that should have been a warning sign.
Then when I went in to register, the woman behind the desk was not friendly at all: clue number two.
Then she gave me a key for a room on the second floor and told me there is no elevator in the building: clue number three.
We carried our bags to the room and found ourselves looking over the exit ramp off f I-70.
I called the front desk to say that I had requested a quiet room and was told that I had the last room in the hotel and that they were sold out.
The room was small and dark and we were tired, so we did not check out and look elsewhere. Mistake!
We went back to our car to go to dinner and saw another car pull up and the driver went inside and registered and came back to his car. Sold out - Huh?
When we returned to the room after dinner, we showered and either the water was very hard or the bathtub was slick. There as not rubber mat and the tub was slippery. Both of us slipped but did not fall in the shower.
And then as suspected, we listened to trucks and loud cars all night outside out "quiet room's" window.
We will never visit this hotel again and will file my displeasure with Choice Hotels customer service.
Don't make the same mistakes that I did. Look elsewhere for lodging in Richmond
Dirty room
Cathy Son 07/06/2017 15:34We are choice preferred members. We got to the hotel late and was told there was one room. It was dirty. There were stains all over the spread on one bed some that looked like blood. There were strands of blond also on the bed. There was hair everywhere including the floor. It was as if a pet had stayed in the room. On the other bed there was a huge stain on the white blanket under the bedspread that was yellow. GROSS! We ended up staying in the one bed that seemed somewhat cleaner.
Not what I'm used to for a comfort inn.
