What People are saying

Nice Hotel!

Alex Gon 01/08/2017 23:05

My family stayed here for two nights last month when visiting Redwood National Park and Crater Lake. I honestly didn't have high expectations but the hotel was much nicer than I expected. The rooms were clean and staff were nice and friendly. It is conveniently located near shopping and restaurants. The breakfast was also well stocked.

After we left, my son realized he was missing his handheld game. I called the hotel and was surprised when they called me back to say they had found it. I thought for sure it was gone forever.

If I am ever in this area again and need lodging, this is the first hotel I will check. I would highly recommend it! We had a great stay here!

A/C dd not work

Spokaneman1949on 14/07/2017 04:04

The room was nicely appointed and bed was comfortable. Comfortable enough that we did not notice that the A/C did not work. The room was cool enough to sleep in but when we were scurrying around to leave in the AM it got pretty stuffy. I reported it and the manager gave me a $20.00 credit to the room charge (she volunteered it).

The breakfast was good, the WiFi worked and the grounds are OK.

The only negative is that there is a park next door that attracts a lot of transients. We were a bit concerned about a break in of our car. The desk clerk monitors the lot via CCTV and there was no problem so alls well that ends well.

I'd stay here again in a heartbeat...very clean & Quiet!

A very nice clean place to stay that accepts dogs. A pool and hot tub that are open until 11 pm which we really appreciated. Both looked very clean and well kept. Super friendly and helpful staff. And a nice hot breakfast..what more could you ask for in a budget motel. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Awesome

We stayed in a very clean room. We needed something fast and at a decent price. For the price it was nicer than expected. They offered free breakfast and wifi! Recommend this hotel if stopping anywhere near.

Fully renovated hotel, immaculately clean and modernized, located near many restaurants and supermarket

Choose between the Inn at the Commons near historic downtown Medford and the Southern Oregon Music Festival venues, or Comfort Inn South, 1.4 miles away.

We stayed 3 nights at Comfort Inn South while attending the Southern Oregon Music Festival, as the Inn at the Commons was booked 9 months in advance of the Festival. Most of the higher rated and expensive hotels in Medford are located in the southern section of the city, away from the older, historic downtown in the central part of town, where most of the homeless and druggies hang out!

We had reserved our room on the comfortinn web site, choosing a cancellable but more expensive mini suite. Non refundable room rates even cheaper. Typical 10% discount with AAA or AARP -yes many of you young whippersnappers will take a few decades before you are eligible for AARP!

Driving into town midday on a Friday, we notice two homeless guys in the next door Veterans Park, adjacent to the parking lot. You can tell that they are homeless, by wearing too much older clothing, solitaire without family, and general unkempt appearance. Well they didn't come into the parking lot and try to shake us down, but stayed at the picnic tables on the grass. Did I make a mistake in coming here?

Typical comfort inn hotel on the outside, with parking out in the front, three story building with interior corridors, elevator, and no balconies. Located right next to Veterans Park on a busy six lane road. Inside, new furniture in the expansive lobby, with two pcs for use by guests, adjacent to a breakfast room. Clean and modern, with relatively new carpets and attractive wall paper trim throughout. Cleaner than my house, but that's not saying much!

We had booked a mini suite at $138 a night for 3 nights. The smiling young lady -everyone looks young when you are 64 like yours truly! - behind the desk gave us a choice of 2nd or 3rd floors, but recommended 3rd floor due to no foot falls on the ceiling. We got room 317. She neglected to tell us that the room was directly across from the single elevator in the building!

Noise from guests talking and children yelling in the hallway, waiting for the elevator, could be heard under the door. Will have to ask about elevator location next time!

Room 317 is about 40% larger than a regular room, with one king size bed, sitting chair, a small partition, and a full size sofa bed, with coffee table, desk with multiple electrical outlets, entertainment center with flat screen cable TV, microwave, good sized refrigerator, AC, heater, coffee maker, and electronic safe that could fit my 14" laptop. Good continuous wifi. The refrigerator was relatively quiet and well away from the bed, so the sound was not intrusive.

Bathroom had single sink, toilet and bathtub all in one room. Soap and shampoo in individual dispensers. Bathtub on the narrow side, or is that me gaining too much weight! .

Everything immaculately clean, except for a tear in the day time curtains, covering the sliding window, overlooking next door Holiday Inn parking lot. Very comfortable bed, and little or no noise from the neighbors heard through the walls.

Downstairs is the breakfast room, which was super crowded at 7:45am Sunday morning, with overflow into the lobby chairs. Breakfast buffet of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, cereals, bagels, hardboiled eggs, yogurt, apples, oranges, coffee, milk and juice. Just got my scrambled eggs before some old fart ate the equivalent for an entire family! Staff slow to replenish.

At least they showed the local news channel on the overhead TV. Would have hated to lose my appetite listening to another political gaffe! Came back Monday at 6am and we were the only ones eating.

Never used the interior swimming pool, hot tub, exercise room, and laundry room.

Did not see any homeless after the first day in the next door Veterans Park.

Fast food restaurants in adjacent and shopping center across the street, including Arbys, Carls Jr, Togos, and Taco Bell. Restaurants include Shari's, McGraths Fish house, Hometown Buffet. Supermarket in shopping center across the street.

Came back at night, to be greeted by fresh cooked hot cookies chocolate chip and peanut butter in paper packs of two. While the clerk was distracted, I sneaked four cookies into my pocket. No wonder I couldn't finish dinner later that night!

Monday morning, we lugged five pieces of luggage, most of it the wife's, onto the elevator at 6am, ignoring the do not use sign. No way we were going to lug all that down two flights of stairs!
