Quaint little museum
Damian Son 22/03/2017 14:33There isn't really that much to do in Sorrento, although it is a pretty little town around which a pleasant day can be spent wandering.
The Museobottega della Tarsialignea (Museum of inlaid wood) is one of the few places that you can actually go into for a look around, and it contains many examples of a form of craftsmanship (and an art) that will be somewhat alien to most casual observers. This shouldn't however be held against it.
If you are interested in fine or historical furniture, or are just open to experiencing and learning about new things, then this museum is well worth a visit. But, if you are more into hands-on action, then it might not be for you.
Worth seeking out
Maria Son 16/03/2017 21:42This museum tells the story of woodworking in Sorrento especially the intricate inlay work the area is renowned for. Some of the pieces such as the beds took my breath away, well worth a visit/
Intensely intricate work on display
Fritz Mon 05/03/2017 23:17I am a woodworker, so I was highly motivated to check out this museum. I was not disappointed. The level of craftsmanship on display is second to none. The detail and quality of the historic work is made even more apparent in contrast to the contemporary work downstairs, which is still interesting. Very few, if any, artists are working at the level of the old masters today.
Well worth a visit

Fascinating!
