The Worst Comfort Suites We Have Seen

We have stayed at Comfort Suites hotels many times all over the country. Usually, they have a consistent quality. This one misses the mark by a big margin. The hallways and lobby were unbearably hot. It was hot outside - the area was experiencing a heat wave - but way too hot inside. A fan in the registration area would have helped. My wife tried to iron a pair of white pants and the ironing board was so stained that it ruined the pants. There was no manager around that day. The breakfast was the worst we have had. For some reason, to operate the TV you had to use two different remotes. Not a very comfortable stay

Poor Condition

I stayed in this hotel Aug 3-7, 2017. The sink in my bathroom would not drain. I informed the front desk the next morning and they said they would have it taken care of. When I returned to my room the sink was somewhat better but still would not drain properly. There was a slimy spot on the carpet at the side of the bed. I did not notice it until I stepped in it. Yuck! Housekeeping did not make up my bed except on the first morning. Also the parking lot was being sealed so without any prior notice I returned to the hotel in the evening to find there was nowhere to park. When I inquired at the front desk I was told to park on the side street. I was worried about my car all night and It was necessary to walk across the parking lot and over a muddy lawn to get to and from my car. Overall not a restful or enjoyable stay. They did give me a credit of $50 on my bill but I still could not in good conscience recommend this hotel. I have stayed at Comfort Suites in Troutdale, OR and it was wonderful so I thought this would be a similar experience. Unfortunately it was not so. Next time I am in the area I will stay elsewhere.

Overpriced/unpleasant

I stay in Comfort Suites fairly regularly and this one needs a lot of help. The room is GROSS, dirty and dinged up. I will do whatever I can not to walk on any floor with bare feet. I got stuck in a horrible room location and everything was uncomfortable. AND the lighting is obnoxious. I get it - go with energy efficient - but they make them with a yellow coating so it's not disgusting white, white light (showing through dirty, old lampshades.) Lucky for me I bring my own bulbs!

Very poor experience

Room was not very clean to start with. We had a very early and busy schedule so we left the room between 5:00 and 6:00 everyday. We stayed 3 nights. On the 2nd day the room wasn't cleaned by staff. There was a note on the door that said they didn't clean because we had our do not disturb sign out. We did NOT put that sign out our entire stay, so that wasn't true. No clean towels or anything. We left the air conditioner running at it's lowest setting (60) and the room was hot and uncomfortable the entire time we were there. On our last day, we ate breakfast and my daughter chose apple juice. She took a big drink and afterwards realized she swallowed several black ants. They were all over inside her apple juice. We took all of these concerns to the front desk and asked for the manager who wasn't there. We were told they would give us a $20 credit on a 3 night stay! One of the nights was $300! Our total bill was $685. What a complete waste of money....

Needs some maintenance and cleaning

We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions - no problem. As others have said, the staff is super friendly. This stay was, unfortunately, not up to par. We had asked for a room on the first floor so the two toddlers with us would not disturb the people below us. That room was not ready, so we got a room upstairs. We didn't have to use the room key - the door was not fully shut (how convenient when you can't find those pesky key cards). We just pushed it open. The carpet had sticky residue on it, dirty around the edges, and candy wrappers on the floor. We requested a different room. Floors still dirty around the edges and door still would not close shut on it's own. Toilet seat needed tightened down (dangerous). Left a note on it in the morning. Returned late afternoon to a toilet seat that was still not fixed. Clothes line was missing in shower. Oh, and the roar of the air conditioner is way better than white noise to sleep by (NOT!). The kids loved the pool and breakfast was generally good (although there were ants in the cereal dispenser). We are Choice Hotel members, but won't be staying at this hotel again. It desperately needs maintenance, new carpeting, and better housekeeping.
