My stay at the comfort suite in Escanaba MI, was wonderful! The staff was very nice, the room was nice and clean. We went to the Continental Breakfast on Sunday morning and when we returned to the room the beds were with fresh towels. Very impressive! pool is very nice, The Continental Breakfast was very delicious. You could make your own waffle with special toppings!

We're college kids that were looking to get away and relax a little before exam week. We chose this hotel. Fair rate. Probably the quickest check-in and check-out process I've ever experienced. Check-in took a matter of a minute. Contrary to some reviews on here, I had no problem with the staff or customer service. The man who checked us in (didn't get his name)was a very cool, friendly guy. It's obvious the hotel isn't new and could use some updating, however the stay was good. We got the king suite. Comfortable bed and clean room. Outlet ports on the desk and bedside table were very convenient. The shower seems kind of small if you're a tall person but the bathroom is large and nicely spaced. Heating unit was very loud. This is probably more on me for not asking the desk but the in-room safe was a nice touch and would be very convenient had I actually known the passcode for it. Lighting in the room was a bit dim too. Breakfast was your standard hotel breakfast but tasty nonetheless. Only one old soda vending machine on the second floor, though the snack store at the desk makes up for that and offers a larger variety than any vending machine could. WiFi was very spotty. We didn't take advantage of the pool so can't comment on that.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. It's your standard hotel. Nothing to wow over but if you're looking for a comfortable rest stop or short getaway, here you go. Would we stay again? Yes.

Horrible customer service!

On our way there, which is about a 5 hour drive they called to inform us that the pool was not working. I called around and couldn't get a room anywhere else that had a pool so we kept the room. When we arrived, and checked in, the front desk clerk was very rude and questioned me about the age of the children. The lady I made the reservation with, knew the age of the children. Everything seemed to be a hassle to her. She informed us that they were filling the pool and it could be used later, the kids called down to see if it was ready and she was very rude to them also, and said "yes, but its cold". On Monday after our stay, I called the manager and informed her of this, and she said she would talk to her but she was surprised that she was like that. But, then the manager turns around and say, well what do you want me to do about it? How rude! After all this, I email your guest services off the website and never receive a response....Is this how you run your hotels? Get plain rude all the way around.

Pros :Nice large room. Sitting area. Clean. Shower good. Comfortable bed. Quiet (it was mid-week) . Cons: Pool designed for kids, not adults. (Sign next day that pool was closed until further notice for repairs ) Asked for a wake up call. Clerk said will do. Discovered phone not to be working. Was told that many rooms had inoperable phone jacks. Had to call front desk repeatedly via cell before call was answered. At check in clerk took her time in a conversation with a fellow employee before she took care of us. Long line at check out, no clerk in sight. Breakfast was good for the type. Overall, not a bad stay, but could have been improved greatly with just a little caring from staff.

Perfect! For a one night stay.

This hotel met my expectations. It was clean, the staff was very friendly and professional and to top it off they let me stay a little longer in the hot-tub after getting back to the hotel a little late from my speaking engagement. The pool area is perfect for young families with a fountain and water slide and the hot tub was nice to relax in. A cozy place to stay in the middle of a winter wonderland in Michigan's U.P. I speak around the country (missionamped.com) and this hotel was the perfect place to stay. I even saw an eagle fly by outside of my window.
