Perfect Eclipse base
SL Con 26/08/2017 18:31We were lucky to book this hotel for the night prior to the eclipse since we couldn't find anything closer to the centerline (in Salem). It was a perfect overnight base, located just off Highway 5 in south Portland, comfortable beds, quiet rooms. The pool is a decent size and fun for the kids. We liked being so close to shopping (Costco, Fred Meyers). Although breakfast was included, we checked out early in the morning of the eclipse and requested the breakfast to go bag (granola bars and water bottle) from the desk clerk. Overall it was a very satisfactory stay.
Be careful..."QUEEN" beds at this property are actually "DOUBLE" beds!...Otherwise, this is a great hotel choice.
HeyNow-Hankon 22/08/2017 02:17The SMALLER bed didn't cause me any problems, as there were only 2 of us. If I had to share a bed this size, however, I wouldn't have been happy.
Everything else about this hotel will make you smile, as proven by their 2017 TripAdvisor Award of Excellence.
Rates are WAY lower than comparable hotels for one reason: this hotel is in a low visibility location, and, therefore, doesn't get much "walk-in" business. The ACTUAL location is very good (just south of downtown Portland) and is easy to find when you're actually looking for it. However, if you were just looking for hotels while driving in your car, you would miss it. Also, the paint color on the exterior of the building is also kind of "blah", but it's a completely different story on the inside.
My Expedia rate was $171 for the night before the ECLIPSE. The best I could do at other hotels was around $240. More proof the low profile location = EXCELLENT rates.
My room was large at about 425 sq. ft. and also had a hide-a-bed in addition to the 2 beds. There was also another sitting area along with a fridge and microwave.
The entire hotel was very clean, including the pool area.
I'll stay here again, as long as I don't have to share a bed.
Nice hotel
jgerfen12on 08/08/2017 22:20Nothing special, but nice hotel. Comfortable beds, clean rooms. Tight parking lot. Id recommend to anyone who wants a cheaper but good hotel. Several places around to eat. They have a small selection of food and drinks at front counter.
Quiet stop outside of Portland, OR
Terrie Son 08/08/2017 19:53We spent one Sunday night. It was fairly quiet. Parking lot was full at night. Bed was comfortable and room was plain, but clean. Refrigerator and microwave. Close to Portland Community College-you could probably walk. Breakfast was typical - eggs, bacon, bagels, toast, cereal, yogurt and waffle maker. There is a pool, but we didn't even look at it. The.cost was reasonable for a last minute selection. Used our AAA card for a little discount. We were happy to be out of the Portland traffic on our way down south.

Ernie Lon 07/08/2017 04:52Comfortable and a good value. Large rooms that make business travel bearable. Close to major highways so travel is easy. Located near residential neighborhood, so it is mostly quiet. Friendly staff that is helpful too.
