This was the third time I had stayed here and can recommend it. Staff were super, conference facilities good, food and service in restaurant excellent. Room was spacious but problem with ventilation. There was a very noisy air vent which blew out freezing air. I had to put subtitles on the tv as it was so noisy and I didn't want to disturb neighbours by having to turn up sound excessively. Luckily this switched off at 10pm each evening but there was no way to regulate it. Problem with phone signal as others have experienced also. Quite noisy on street side. Previously, I have always had an internal room which was quieter. Did not like having to prebook parking as ridiculous to say you need to check out before 8am or pay a whole new day and not cheap at that, while others in my group were told it was ok not to pay the last day. Sort it out please!

Stayed at the hotel and it was an amazing experience. The room was of a high standard and the staff were polite.
The hotel was actually a pleasant surprise and did not expect this.
I would recommend a stay in this hotel next time you visit Birmingham.

Surprising bit of luxury

After using a hotel comparison site I got a single room at the Conference Aston for a bargain price. I stayed one night in a single room so I could stay out late to socialise with friends in the city. Seeing as I got such a good deal I wasn't expecting much. An uber from new street station was only £3-4. The reception was very well presented and I was greeted by a very helpful and friendly lady on reception. I was told where my room was and got a moment to look around. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful with lots of very smart and comfortable places to sit inside and outside.

My room was clean and the single bed was much bigger than I expected. The walls were quite thick so there was no trouble with noise. I liked that I was on the 3rd level and still I could open the window a little for some fresh air. The bathroom was very clean except the shower head could have done with a scrub. The little bottles of gel were very handy seeing as i had packed two shampoos by an accident. The towels were soft and plenty of them. The sockets in the room were handy and I also used the hairdryer which made things easier for getting ready. The tv was an added bonus and worked perfectly. It was nice to see a fan in the room but i did not use it as the room was cool enough. Tea in the room was a nice gesture and I was impressed with the free water cooler in the corridor. When i got back to the hotel at 3am I was let in swiftly with no troubles.

I was impressed with the breakfast and decided to put my luggage in the storage room while I went for breakfast. I was shown to a seat and received a pot of tea and shown everything on offer. I will be honest with you, the food played a big part in helping me though my hangover and without it I would have never had got back on the train.

Now i have stayed at this hotel I would be more than willing to pay the normal price to stay again, I just wish my stay was longer.

My room was large with a desk area and armchair with a window that could be opened. Accessibility excellent with large suitcase. Air conditioning would have been helpful although a fan was in the room.
The staff were extremely polite, cheerful and helpful in the hotel and the restaurant. This certainly helped make the working week much more pleasant.
Food was well cooked, although choice was a little limited. Breakfast included fruit as well as the usual fry up.
Good situation for central Birmingham

Better than your average hotel

In teh hotel-Lovely room, lots of space, an amazing size bath. The breakfast was delicious and they would make omlettes, porridge, poached eggs fresh on request. The conference room were just as expected.

However- no air conditioning and it was very noisy when the windows were open, so not the best nights rest.
Food in the evening was very samey. I asked for a rare or blue steak and was told they only do medium or well done! Strange! In future I'd go and eat out. There seemed lots of restaurants in the area.
Overall I would recommend staying here, but perhaps not in the heat of summer.
