Arrived at the hotel around 3pm and it took 1.5 hours to check in.
The hotel is located in the middle of town but as the town is so small every hotel is centrally located. Lol.
The hotel rooms look just like the pics but are just really dirty.
NO HOT WATER AT THIS HOTEL so get used to
Staff really aren't the friendly.
I'd say just as good hotels around for half the money.

Though this hotel is @ a convenient location, hence the name, there is really nothing much to say about it. Customer service is meh! We stayed in their Junior suite for 3 days; room is not cleaned daily- didn't see/ have the door sign that says to 'make up or do not disturb'. Shower is horrendous, with no hot water; bath tub is dirty and water pressure so weak it will take the whole day to fill it up! We had an unwelcome 'visitor' that usually shows up @ night during our stay, a dark brown insect about an inch big( you get my drift )that I was able to squash on our 2nd night! Please, I know it's not easy to get rid of them but do spray your rooms before you let another guest/s occupy. I grew up seeing and dealing with these critters but for the uninitiated, very traumatic!
The only saving grace and that's why I gave it 2 stars is the restaurant below, Steve's. The food and ambiance is good; the owner even took the time to sit and talk to us.
The room and services we expected simply did not live up to what they are advertising.

Got the Jr suite through Agoda at a very reasonable price. Stayed four nights with family. The young one was so excited with the 'walk-in' bathtub from the bedroom, that compensate for the lack of swimming pool in the hotel. The overlooking view of the jetty and distanced islands from the room balcony was surely a plus point. Sunset was amazing.. only downside, the rooms are pretty old and used with a huge airconditional compressor that was placed at the balcony make it impossible to stay passed 5 minute due to the heat from the compressor. With the sheer size of the compressor, it most be connected to the rest of the rooms airconditional. Just our luck to get the room with the massive heater sitting at our balcony. However, that does make our 4 days of laundry a lot easier. With our only trips not having pile of dirty clothes to wash back home. Staffs were accommodating... from the front office team to the engineering team as we do have issue on the airconditional one our first night. It was solve on the second day, apparently due to dirty compressor. Overall, the stay was a pleasant one, being close to everything.

Just terrible. First day we already had an issue with our room. The bathroom smelled like straight up sewage. So we ended up staying with our friend and asked for a refund. They only gave back 60 dollars of the 200 dollars we paid. The pictures was from our friends room. There were molds, unfinished floor, dirty carpet and our Blanket had blood stains. STAY CLEAR FROM THIS PLACE IS YOU DON'T YOUR VACATION TO GET RUINED.
TO THE MANAGEMENT, SPECIALLY TO THE MANAGER THAT NEVER SHOWED FACE. THANKS FOR NOTHING.

We arrived at Gateway Hotel before the standard check in time and the staff were happy to check us in. We had booked 6 nights at the hotel and for the first 2 nights we stayed in room 211. The room was big with also a big bathroom, however it was very outdated and definitely requires renovations, we don't agree the pictures reflect the room on the website at all.
There was no toilet seat in the bathroom, which we didn't understand? However after reporting this to front desk a member of staff arranged this.
On the second day on return from our excursion we spotted more than 3 HUGE COCKROACHES running across the floor in our room, it was absolutely disgusting! I was genuinely traumatised and spoke to front desk, who were happy to change our room straight away but didn't appear to be surprised by it at all. They moved us to room 302 which even though was smaller than our first room, it was much cleaner and felt more up to date.
The wifi in our second room didn't work and it was super slow in the reception area and we had to continuously ask for toilet roll every day.
Although the hotel is in the main town, it would have been worth it to book a nicer hotel a little further away.
