Sue Son 14/04/2017 07:08After reading good reviews my husband and I were keen to try this hotel for one night at first to check it out for future (regular trips via Santander). The first email response was they don't sell rooms for one night only! A very short sharp email. I later thought they must be wrong so wrote again. They wrote back saying they had made a mistake so ok we all make mistakes. I requested a room or suite with balcony ( they do have a number of rooms with balcony or terrace) but they wrote back simply saying they could not guarantee such a room. Why? Apparently it is hotel policy not to guarentee those rooms no matter what you are paying for them! I gave up and went elsewhere to a hotel who really do want new customers.
Awesome hotel! Great location, super friendly and efficient service, wonderful rooms. We'll be back!
mkehleron 05/01/2017 13:15We spent a long weekend here with the kids and had a great time - our room was a "family room", in reality a suit with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with all kinds of amenities we definitely did not expect. Bathrooms were great, showers were so good that it was hard to get out once you were in, beds were comfy, there were plenty of seating options (a rarity in hotel rooms everywhere), breakfast buffet was world class, and the burgers at the hotel bar were some of the best we've ever had. The owners are into cars, and Ferrari's in particular and the interior is full of neat Ferrari and other cars and motorbike references - and there were a few real supercars in the hotel garage... A great place to stay and explore Cantabria and neighboring Asturias - perfect base for day trips to some of the most beautiful areas of Spain.
Outstanding hotel
LosClarkson 16/11/2016 20:20Stayed in the Esmeralda Suites during a trip in April / May 2016.
Suances was recommended to us by some Spanish friends, and we decided to use the hotel as a base to explore the North of Spain.
Suances is a lovely seaside town with some great walks and eateries.
The hotel is a well looked after, contemporary hotel with an excellent motor sport theme. Rooms were well decorated and a large screen TV on the wall. Great walk in shower in the bathroom.
Arrived late at night following a direct flight from Edinburgh to Santander, and after a short-drive from the airport, arrived after the resturant was closed. The very helpful reception staff / owner arrange to have some fruit sent up to our room.
Parking is charged daily, and while there is ample parking onsite, we'd recommend trying to get a space just up the road in one of the 4/5 free spaces up from the hotel. We were there when it was quiet season, so 8 nights out of 9 we managed to park for free.
Breakfast each morning was excellent, with fresh eggs cooked to your liking and a really helpful and friendly chef. Large selection of the usual - fresh orange, coffee, tea, cheese, meats, fruit, cereal, churros, cake and other pastries - all fantastic, and included in our price.
We got by on our interpretation of Spanish, but you may struggle if you don't know any Spanish!

letsgo5054on 07/11/2016 19:11on oct 18,while driving through spain from Lourdes france to fatima Portugal I picked this place as a good days of driving and did I get it right. this hotel is excellent,the people, the ambience the food. it is a beautiful location,close to the beach with restraunts,not far of A8.very clean,great breakfast,5euro charge for parking. would recommend this hotel and in fact if I ever return to the area would go out of my way and spend multiple days.
Amazing Costal Find in Austurias, Spain
Chris Mon 02/10/2016 21:42I really was not expecting much because generally the hotels in Northern Spain are a bit old fashioned and not up to date. This is the jewel of Austurias. Beautiful location, walking distance to the beach and town and a gorgeous Hotel. The staff greets you like old friends... not a bit uppity. The outdoor space has ample comfy chairs for watching passerbys or sitting at the pool. Our suite was like a small apartment. We had two full baths, lots of light, two TVs, free wifi, great breakfast but most of all the beds are heaven!! Lots of parking too.. My only negative was the jacuzzi tub in the bedroom. After 30 years of marriage we are way past that!! I highly recommend this hotel!
