Cheap and very basic
Jinty059on 26/07/2017 21:56Spent five nights in the Goya, booked an EasyJet, last minute cheap getaway, to enjoy some sunshine in Alicante. We enjoyed 4-5 days of beautiful sun, going to the beach every day, lots of walking and discovering Alicante for the first time. All good. The Goya is situated about 20 minutes up from the beach and marina. Easy walking no matter which route you take to the beach. The Goya is in a fairly quiet area. On arrival we had a straight forward check in and were directed to the lift, up to our room on the fourth floor. Room itself was compact and contained a clean and comfortable bed, one bedside cabinet, small table and chair, a small television up on the wall and a very tiny balcony with mini table and two small chairs. There was a ceiling fan, and air conditioning which did work to start with. Ample room in a fitted wardrobe for us. The ensuite consisted of a toilet, sink, mirror, glass shelf, shower over a very small bath. All worked well with ample supplies of hot water and nice white towels. No plug in sink or bath though. The room and toilet area was cleaned, bed made and fresh linen provided daily. We had an enjoyable stay using the hotel purely as a base, to shower, dress and sleep in. We did not eat there at all. We found the staff on reception very smart, pleasant and helpful. There is no doubt about it, the Goya is a low budget ** hotel, very dated and tired, inside and out. Some of the public areas are very dusty and old. It badly needs refurbished and updated but then the prices would go up, no doubt. Go there knowing there are absolutely no frills, you will get a very basic and clean room, which for a short stay, city break was fine for us.
Last minute
Lin Eon 15/07/2017 21:31I booked about 2 hours before because where I usually stay in Alicante my quiet room had been doubled booked and the city noise was unbearable it is July not a good time to visit tbh.
Hotel goya was a spit away but very quiet it was clean and cheap I had already paid out at the other place so I went between the 2 ...
Hotel goya was friendly safe my air con worked well it was cleaned daily for a cheap place it's fine ...

Breakfast for me wasn't worth 5euros but if you eat cold meat it might be .
Short walk to tram and airport bus and main shops 15 to beach ....

Jevgenij Mon 02/07/2017 16:19Good hotel for the price. People are leaving bad reviews because they don't understand what is a budget hotel. It is one of the cheapest places to stay in alicante. Breakfast is good, tasty and fresh croissants. Very nice coffee. location is good. Don't go to corner shop over the road there is no price tags, so the guy tried to charge me for bottle of beer and 2 cans of coke 4.70 euros. There is a good supermarket down the road. At the reception very helpfull staff who can speak english.
Nice stay!
Marta Son 22/04/2017 22:51You will get what you paid for. Budget hotel, but very clean with every day room service. 20 min of walk to the beach and 10 min to the nearest supermarket. Close to all restaurants and Santa Barbara Castle. Also 10 min of walk to Mercado Central.
Budget hotel
Daniel Gon 23/03/2017 19:07For a budget hotel and considering the low price of 30€ a night for 3 people all in very good value. Don't expect 5 stars but it's clean and the staff are helpful. There is no WiFi in rooms (but there is communal WiFi zones). We spent about 8 hours in the hotel basically to sleep and wash. If you are exploring Alicante, this works as a local and central base during your stay.
