Family Reunion
baebae747on 24/08/2017 19:06We hosted our family reunion in Athens. Hosted the meet and greet that Thursday night at hotel . All was well the staff did a great job on setting everything up for us. Hotel staff was great. Food on buffet could have been a little better .
After Eclipse trip

Good enough place, but important issues exist (cleanliness, noise)
Don Kon 23/08/2017 15:36The hotel was a good enough place to stay given we needed to be in the area and we are Club Carlson Gold members, but there were issues that I haven't had at other Club Carlsons.
On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, they had a nice crib set up for our baby, and parking was easy. Customer service was helpful each time I called before the trip about the crib, late arrival, and late check-out. They accommodated the late check out easily. Parking was easy in front the of hotel, and it's on a quieter street off of the main drag so getting in and out is not an issue. Wifi was provided and was reasonable speed.
On the downside, a few things. The rooms are not very sound proof as we heard the upstairs TV going until 3 AM, and could hear stomping both upstairs and in the rooms next to us. Obviously the top requirement of a hotel is to be a good place to sleep, and this was not the place for that.
Cleanliness also appeared to be an issue. The bathroom was dirty upon arrival, with hair from a prior guest in several places on the floor. The couches in our suite had visible stains.
On the less important side of issues, the hotel did not provide a welcome amenity which is part of the Club Carlson program. Upon inquiring about it at checkout, the agent said they used to provide them but haven't recently, and said I could go grab a drink and a snack. It's strange they don't follow the policies of their hotel chain.
Personally, I didn't like the design of the hotel with its large atrium setup, with the majority rooms facing it, but again, that's a personal view.
Good value
Joan Ron 13/08/2017 18:57Good value in Athens, clean rooms, spacious rooms with sitting area good for families. Clean breakfast area. Plenty of parking well-lit parking lot, nice furnishings in the lobby, good water pressure.
Bugs!
Tony Bon 10/08/2017 20:04Stayed two nights. Stained floors, sofa, and bedding. Overall dirty. They did not clean the room after 1st night. Called desk and they brought fresh towels. We had food in a box on the counter. The next morning the box and bugs all over it.
When we checked out I mentioned all we encountered. The desk said they knew statins are a problem. No comment on the lack of maid service and the bugs.
Yuck!
