Look for another place to stay!
karenronhogeon 10/08/2017 18:45I usually try to only write positive reviews on companies since every establishment can have an off day, but I had to share our experience here. We set this reservation at least a month before travel. We have learned to call to confirm our reservations on the day of our arrival. When we called that day, we requested a room on the top floor since it is quieter. All the rooms were already assigned, but they assured us that our room would be quiet. When we arrived to check in, it was noisy-- lots going on. Fun! No problem! Well, our room was directly at the top of the stairs and directly over top of the lobby. In other Country Inn and Suites, this room is a storage room. WHAT? There were no luggage carts available-- all were being used. 15 min. later-- still no luggage carts. Front desk folks were less than professional (more interested in teasing/joking with each other than with taking care of guest.) OK, so we carried our luggage to our room. Having to get up early to travel, we were asleep at 10:30. At 11:00 we were awakened by loud laughter and talking. People should be able to have a great time-- the people were NOT the problem. The fact that we were in this crazy room WAS the problem! I called to the front desk to ask for the manager. No manager was on duty-- only front desk girls. No one could help until the mgr arrived at 8:00 AM. At midnight we were again awakened. Ugh!
In the AM we went to breakfast. VERY overcrowded-- no clean tables... heck no tables at all! Only 1 person manning the tables, replenishing food, and brewing coffee. We were ready to leave to just get breakfast someplace else when a table finally came available so we could eat. The food was running out, but we found something...
At 8, we asked for the Mgr. We were told that he'd be in at 9:30, not 8:00... sigh!
This place will be undergoing a renovation starting in the fall. It needs to be renovated...Ex: The wall paper was coming off the wall in sheets in the dining area, moldings are missing in areas, etc.
The parking was a big problem. There are 2 lots... both were completely filled. Late arriving people were parallel parked wherever possible-- I'm sure some were in illegal spots in the event that emergency vehicles would have needed to get into the hotel-- but patrons needed to go somewhere!
Since we're Gold Club Carlson members, after not being able to speak with the manager, we called Club Carlson. THEY tried to send him an email to call us and after 72 hours and 2 phone calls from us, the manager still didn't reply to us or to Club Carlson. To my knowledge, the manager STILL has not replied.
We have stayed in many Country Inn and Suites across the country. We are almost always pleased with the accommodations and the staff. This one is at the bottom of our list. I hope they will get better since it really effects the brand poorly!
My Stay at Country Inn & Suites
leedV7066CMon 08/08/2017 11:31The only issue we had was the bathroom did not have any washcloths, hand towels or a floor mat. There were only two large towels. Also, we stayed two nights. The bed was not made the morning after the first night.
Very nice hotel. Great customer service.
travelsavvypairon 05/08/2017 02:45We often stay at Country Inn & Suites and are Club Carlson rewards members. This location was right off the interstate and in a convenient location. There is not much else at the exit (only a few small restaurants like Culver's and Denny's). The hotel itself was very nice. The outside areas (chairs and tables for a sitting area and a fire pit) were a nice touch. This hotel had the more modern look that the brand is going to. The room itself was clean and the amenities were good. One of the best things about our stay was that we had book a two queen beds room because that was all that was available when I made the reservation. When I arrived I asked the manager if we could get a King room. While I believe the hotel was fully booked for the night I was staying, he managed to change our room. THAT is customer service. Everything about our stay was great.
Family Vacation
robp0411on 04/08/2017 14:41It started with our flight. We were 3 hours late, which is no fault of the hotel. However, we arrived around 11:15pm. We get to the counter and no one is around. We wait for around 10 minutes and finally this lady comes walking out of the area that breakfast is served. Unfortunately, this is the same person that we called to set up the shuttle. Thus, she knew that we were coming. I'm not sure if she was getting a snack or what. Then, she finds our room keys and receipt. At this point she is unable to log onto the computer and does not know the password to get on. After about 15 minutes, trying to be patient, I say you have our room keys and everything is paid for I would like to go to bed. At this point, she scans the key cards and we are off to our room. We get to the room and it is propped open with a wet paint sign on the door. I'm tired, after waiting almost 30 minutes, so I pull the sign off the door and we go to bed. Not a great experience. The staff should be trained. The lady offered no condolences she just talked to the other guy about her schedule and the fact that the manager had changed the schedule and she was off the next day. What was she going to do. Go figure, you may need to call in the next day to check your schedule.
Very comfy
Michele Pon 04/08/2017 00:09Wonderful hotel very accommodating staff we were stuck overnight because our truck broke down and thought oh great searched hotels in the area most were pretty dumpy but we booked this one they had a shuttle come get us ( which was very nice ) at no charge I might add by the time we got there and saw how nice and clean the room was and how friendly the staff our whole evening had turned around
