Good property but terrible service
saikatBangaloreon 30/08/2017 12:32I had booked 3 rooms for my family and we were there for 2 nights. the rooms are very good and we were lucky enough to get rooms on the first floor which had big terraces. Was a lovely space since we were travelling with kids. The check in was ok.
Our troubles started the moment we stepped into the restaurant. A group of 200 students had descended on the hotel and had completely occupied all the restaurants. The staff was overwhelmed and could not serve other guests properly. The buffet costed a 1000 bucks and had hardly any items. This was exorbitant for a place like Mysore. we settled for ala carte which took an hour. We thought this was an anomaly due to the students.
Worse story that night. for dinner when we decided to have ala carte again due to the pricey buffet we were clearly told that it will take more than 45 minutes since they were busy with the buffet. since we had kids we shifted to the other restaurant within their premises. a south east asian food festival was running which they were marketing quite a bit. The service was atrocious in terms of time taken to serve. it took 90 minutes for all the food to be served. they are either understaffed or are yet to figure out a way to run the F&B service. All their focus is on the buffet and it will be a big mistake to try anything else.
The food quality is excellent which means they have an excellent team in the kitchen but by the time the food reaches you have probably starved to death.
The staff tries its best but maybe the management has to standardize operations.
they have a nice gym and a pool.
Mysore visit

Excellent hotel, more excellent staff, and delectable service
prem103on 30/08/2017 05:39The hotel is one of the best places to stay in Mysore either if you're traveling on business or for personal reasons. Situated next to the Infosys campus, in the industrial area of Mysore, the surroundings are even more peaceful and serene than the rest of Mysore, which is anyway so quiet and peaceful. The staff are excellent and most courteous, the variety of food is just phenomenal, and the service is beyond delightful. They spare no effort to make you feel at home and your every need is taken of, and it feels more like a resort than a hotel. I would especially commend your staff Dawa, Kanchan and Sushmita, and indeed all the staff of the hotel. Full marks to you all!
A pleasant family stay
bpkp2017on 29/08/2017 15:03A very comfortable and pleasant experience. The room was spacious and clean. Staff were extremely courteous. We will surely recommend the place to our friends and relations. Slightly away from city centre. Good value for money.
Average property, only worth a short stay
Arnab Son 29/08/2017 13:53We stayed at this property for a night over a long weekend in August. The location is perfect for those who would wish to stay outside the city but near KRS or Ranganathittu or even Srirangapatna. This is also next to the Infosys campus, inside an industrial suburb. Otherwise, there is hardly anything outside the hotel.
We are Club Carlson silver elite members and had booked a club room. Our initial expectation was an easy upgrade to a suite room. However, this was not straightforward and it required multiple phone calls to different numbers. Initially, the hotel tried conveying to us that room upgrades are NOT a benefit for silver members! Anyway, we persisted and were eventually given a "junior suite" at the third floor. They also have "business suites" which had large sit-outs that the junior suites lacked. Anyway, the room itself was quite nice with a view of a nearby temple from the living area window. There was a comfortable L-sofa and a work desk in the living area, while the main bed was also super nice. Loads of storage spaces were seen everywhere. The bathroom, though very small, had separate shower and tub. The shower area though had poor drainage with a tendency for water to flow over.
Most of the hotel staff were surprisingly from a common area of the country. Unfortunately, a large fraction of them also lacked adequate training in running such a hotel. The reception always gave us conflicting (or plain wrong) answers to whatever we asked. For example, no one had any clue of what was the club lounge direct number! The staff was also mostly ill-prepared to handle a CC elite guest. In many ways, the hotel staff gave us the impression that CC silver membership counts for nothing, which we found to be quite shocking. So if you have an elite membership in CC, make sure you repeatedly demand your benefits (e.g. late checkout, extra discounts on food beverage, etc.), as otherwise none will be given, while the hotel will make you believe that only gold/concierge members are eligible for any of those benefits.
The hotel food was mostly awful but was rather cheap. The same restaurant menu also doubled up as the room service menu. The club lounge was a joke. There was no food spread during the lounge hours. All you could do was order sandwiches and pakoras (fries), but they also ended up mixing our orders and so we never received what we actually ordered. Moving on, you could also get a drink (Indian branded beer, whiskey, etc), but only during a specified period in the evening. The breakfast food was also quite mediocre, with many items in the buffet not up to a star hotel standard.
In any case, none of it probably would have mattered much to us for a one-night stay. But it ended up mattering because of their attitude (or lack of it) to CC elite members, which easily pointed to poor management (and staff training) practices in this hotel. So if you are a CC elite member, then perhaps be prepared.
