Beware of mysterious cancellations and rebooking at higher rates

We booked thru an online site 3 months in advance. Approximately 10 days before the trip we got a cancellation email from the hotel which directed us to call the hotel. We immediately called and explained to the hotel we had not cancelled, but they told us to call the booking site, that they could do nothing. We called the booking site, who contacted the hotel, and we're told the hotel would send an email the next day when the manager was available. Next day, no email so we call the hotel again and we're told they could not honor the booking - but they would rebook for approximately $80 more for the two nights. Since this trip was planned around a wedding we had no choice. At the hotel we witnessed two other groups that were complaining of mysterious cancellations. This appears to be deceptive and unfair treatment of customers. One thing the hotel did tell us is to always book direct with the hotel as they couldn't control online bookings. So wanted to share this with potential customers and hopefully upper management. We just wanted them to honor the booking.

Country inns & suits on I 95 Suvanna are all nice and reasonably priced. conveniently located near restaurants and the airport. They are remolding as needed. Great pool and jacuzzi ...Go Country inn & suites

Bring your own toilet paper!

The toilet paper disintegrated before you could use it because it was so cheap. Bring something strong to hold the two decorative curtain panels together so the parking lot lights don't keep you up all night. They only had sheer curtains which did nothing to block the light. Skip the breakfast! If you have any type of respiratory problems, be prepared because the chlorine smell from the pool was too strong and I could smell it in my room! Very caustic to the lungs. DON'T get ice there! I don't know when was the last time the ice machines (first and second floor) were properly cleaned. One positive note: the beds were comfortable.

friendly service, great room and breakfast suite was comfortable and clean location was were we needed it enjoy our stay, very welcoming very roomy, easy to get around We will definitely use this hotel next time we visit Savannah and Tybee Island

Unsafe and Smelled Terrible

The front desk agent was very friendly upon arrival. I booked this hotel on Hotwire and was under the impression that it was near downtown Savannah. I WAS WRONG! After dinner I returned to the hotel and went up to the room. The elevator made a loud noise as if it needed some maintenance. Once I walked out of the elevator and into the room the smell was terrible, like wet moldy carpet. I tired calling the front desk but no one answered. Traveling on business with my co worker (Both Female) we decided that we didn't feel safe and the smell was overwhelming. As we walked out the agent was smoking out front and there were young children playing barefoot.
