good location
musimomon 08/07/2017 00:53Stayed here based on all the great reviews.... well, it was good but not excellent. First room smelled like smoke and attendant moved us to lower floor. It was fine. Windows opened but only a bit and our screen had holes in it. Beds are a bit hard, pretty clean, no maids came knocking on the door early, the staff was friendly and helpful, and it was close to gas/shopping/groceries and the highway. I would consider staying here again but would not call it excellent.
Clean and Comfortable
bletourneaon 06/06/2017 01:58This hotel is what I expect of Holiday Inn Express - comfortable rooms, good location, friendly staff, clean. The location is excellent and there are two decent places to eat within walking distance. I was traveling for work and would stay here again.
Great staff.
Joyce Lon 21/04/2017 16:50Stayed here at this hotel for two weeks. It was wonderful. The staff were friendly and so welcoming. Very very clean. Great job. Great cookies. I would stay here again!! Thanks for the hospitality. This hotel should be very proud of the staff and the customer service. Wow. What an amazing experience.
Easy access to I94
Pat Hon 04/03/2017 14:00Just checked out of this HIE, and as always a great stay at this chain. We stay at many HIE so what stands out at this one? Non slip tub floor...may not be a big deal to many but we appreciate this. Also a great shower head with never ending hot water. We booked a suite which is wonderful to have a separate room for working or watching TV in a chair. Beds are comfy, breakfast is good...the best coffee! Recently renovated and looks very up to date. Olive Garden and Cracker Barrel nearby.
No Sound Proofing whatsoever! Some sleep would have been nice!
Trish Mon 06/01/2017 07:18This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had, and I've stayed at hundreds of hotels. Upon entering the hotel, the door at the entry broke. The door near the other entrance was out of order and had a sign on it. The room was fine in appearance, aside from the lack of black out curtains sufficiently blacking out the room. Lots of light came in as soon as the sun came out. Black out curtains are standard for all hotels. This is shocking and should be fixed immediately.
At 3:00 in the morning the noise began that would prevent me from getting any sleep at all. Apparently there was a baby staying in the hotel. I could hear the baby screaming the entire morning following the start of it at 3. I was still awake, expecting to be able to sleep late with my 1:00 checkout for signing up for the rewards program at the hotel. I had my do not disturb sign on, and heard the baby, the families, people talking, house keeping knocking on all of the doors, etc., the entire time I was trying to sleep. (Typically these activities occur at any given hotel, but the sound proofing prevents me from being aware of it.) At 11:10 am, despite my late checkout being arranged with the front desk and my do not disturb sign on the door, a housekeeper pounded on my door excessively and shouted housekeeping. I jumped out of bed to see if this was really happening, or if I was hearing her at the door next door. Sure enough, it was my door that was being pounded on after no sleep AND the do not disturb sign and late checkout. I couldn't believe it.
The entire next day was ruined from lack of sleep, I needed a good nights sleep before continuing on with my road trip, of which I was then unable to do any driving. I requested that Orbitz contact the hotel to arrange a refund due to this terrible experience, but the hotel refused to compensate in any way. I wouldn't have gone through with this experience if I were being compensated $300.00, and to think I am paying them. I predict that this hotel will go out of business just like the hotel that was here before the Holiday Inn Express. Who wants to stay at a hotel that sounds like you are sleeping in the same room as all of the guests and staff, and that fills with light as soon as the sun comes out.
