Bad start great Finish
Taxpracton 17/08/2017 18:16We pulled into Memphis after a long drive from Nashville, so we really just wanted to rest upon arrival. Our room was well laid out and we took off our shoes and wanted to take a nap and all of a sudden our socks were soaked form some unexplained water on the rugs. Well the condenser on the A/C unit was either leaking or producing a lot of condensation enough so that we had to tell the hotel management and the quickly gave us another room. Just as nice but much drier! The hotel is a typical business hotel with a great business center and all day coffee shop that served up Starbucks coffees and teas along with light breakfast, lunch and dinner fare. The hotel has a nice Jacuzzi on the 2nd floor and is well located in the heart of Memphis. Good service, valet parking$, and nice amenities.
In town for a trades show
TheTateron 17/08/2017 03:57Front desk was very friendly and helpful. For some reason calling down and getting a wake up call didn't do much good as the call never came. Luckily I woke up in time to get ready and make it to the show on time. The room was clean and the cleaning staff was very polite and accommodating. The carpet in the room seemed to be dirty and in need of replacing. Other than those few things the stay was good as can be expected.
Downtown, close to Beale on a Trolly line, when it's running
Earthbound-Traveleron 09/08/2017 20:02Better than average Courtyard. Very clean and modern. Bistro food was just ok. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Check in was quick and easy. Parking was reasonable.
Located within walking distance to the river walk area, also walking distance to Beale St. we had to walk the trolly line was undergoing maintenance. (still) seems like its been down a long time.
There was two huge generators across the street powering an apartment building, they weren't excessively noisy but you could hear them running all night long.
Good location, but...
Kathy Son 08/08/2017 20:051st time to Memphis. In town for a long Wedding Weekend. The Courtyard is in a good location, close to Beale Street & The Peabody (to see the ducks). The hotel was exceptionally clean, lobby and rooms.
But...hotel staff wasn't service minded. Upon approaching check-in desks (multiple times) we were literally ignored and made to wait while staff chatted/joked with other hotel employees. They seemed absolutely annoyed at being ask about breakfast, directions or getting a cab. Maid service was disappointing. Opted out of 2 of 4 nights. They never touched the bathroom to replenish items used and didn't leave fresh towels. Would have to call for new ones whenever we returned at night.
We had coffee in the morning & the service providers were friendly and efficient.
Excellent customer service
ghaynes64on 28/07/2017 16:44I have stayed at many Marriott hotels, but this one is special. Customer service is excellent. Every staff member was pleasant and greeted me, wished me a good day, asked about my stay or asked if I needed anything. I look forward to staying here again.
