Heimir Bon 29/06/2017 05:36The Courtyard by Marriott Downtown is an excellently located hotel, just off Main Street Greenville,. Rooms are excellent, The staff is great and the hotel just has a very nice atmosphere. Compared to most hotels i visit (and i stay at hotels on average 6 motnhs a year, this is one of the very finest and offers great sleeping quality. This is my third time here at this hotel and i have nothing to complain about what so ever.

roblouharon 28/06/2017 21:17Customer service was horrible. VERY rude consultants. Completely disgusted. Valet lost my car keys! The customer service represntatives were not helpful nor were they inviting. Housekeeping began their runs at 7:30 knocking on my door before 8:30 EVERY MORNING!! Will NEVER stay here again.

SteveMatthewPon 25/06/2017 19:34My wife and I made our first trip to the Greenville area. The hotel is located in the heart of the shops, bars, and restaurants. You would be hard pressed to find a more centralized and convenient spot to stay. The service at check in was outstanding. They also offer a beautiful and highly rated restaurant. Just outside the restaurant they have additional patio seating as well as a huge common area of field turf for the kids to run around on or even having a small family picnic. The hotel rooms are quite large. The bathrooms are also nice. The shower has plenty of space. Only two minor flaws. First, for some reason we didn't receive maid service. Surely just an oversight but strange. Secondly, and the bigger challenge are the thin walls. As nice and spacious as the rooms are the walls are quite thin. Just something to be aware of here. But that said I would still come back in a heartbeat. The location is ideal and the service at the front desk, car valet, and bar/restaurant was great. We'll be back.

icats2on 25/06/2017 14:45This hotel is perfectly positioned on Main Street. Either way you go on Main there are great shops and restaurants. The hotel is nicely renovated and the rooms were clean. The only problem was the thin walls. We heard everything so we just turned on my white noise app on my phone at night and no further issues. Would definitely stay again.
Great Location - Good Hotel
Bob Bon 24/06/2017 20:57I have wanted to stay at this hotel for quite some time, and took advantage of our 33rd wedding anniversary to book a room for a leisurely evening. I do a lot of traveling, and am familiar with and tend to prefer Marriott properties when given the choice.
The view from the room was really nice - we could see the grassy courtyard and a great view of Main Street. Greenville has a fantastic downtown, and this location is close to perfect.
Another great feature is the direct connection to Nantucket restaurant - one of downtown Greenville's finest. You can access the restaurant from the lobby, and bill the meal, or beverages from the bar right to your room.
All of the people providing service from moment we arrived were very well trained, exceptionally friendly, and enjoyable.
The room wasn't great, though. The mattress was Ok (but nothing like the perfect feel of the beds at the nearby Westin Poinsett). Likewise pillows were ok. The feel of the room and the bedding is like the rest of the Courtyard brand (but at a higher price). The real negative was the pervasive smell of mold, likely due to the in-room air conditioning unit. It was tolerable, but unpleasant. Perhaps ours was the only room with the problem, but the seemingly genuine surprise when I reported the mold smell makes me think they were unaware, as if housekeeping and everyone else who services room had not picked up on it, or were not in the habit of reporting such things.
Others have mentioned the level of noise in their reviews. Downtown Greenville is indeed a noisy place because of the (deserved) popularity of the area. We did notice more noise during our stay (and one drunk young woman pounding on a nearby door in the middle of the night to be let into a room that apparently wasn't hers), but we rested just fine through it.
Parking is inexpensive and convenient - a huge plus in the downtown area.
All in all, it seemed overpriced for the experience, but the company was fantastic and so many positives in the area made it a good stay.
