What People are saying

A Disappointing Rip-Off. :(

Janet Won 24/04/2017 04:48

We stayed at this motel last night, 4-22-17 in room 210, and were very disappointed. It doesn’t live up to its name of being “cozy” that’s for sure, and it wasn’t worth the almost $100 for the one night’s stay. These are the reasons we were not happy:

• The mattress was far too hard and we woke up sore all over, once we got to sleep that is!
• The elevator wasn’t working and one of us has difficulty with stairs. We should have been informed of that at the time of booking, especially as we were put on the second floor!
• The room smelled of MILDEW - not good for those suffering with allergies!
• The room, and bathroom, were both very small.
• The was no refrigerator in the room – something that EVERY modern accommodation has these days, and has had for years now. A microwave oven would have been nice also.
• The carpet was thin, and threadbare in one spot by the bathroom entrance.
• The bed cover was ripped at the seams in several places.
• The chairs were hard, and not comfortable.
• The “beverage area” in reception was very “chintzy” and minimal. For the price we paid, we expected a continental breakfast, at least.
• The towels were clean, but thin and of poor quality.
• The one picture on the wall was “very bland” to say the least. No pretty, cozy beach scenes there for customers to enjoy.
• No spare blankets.
• The whole motel needs updating.
• They charge another $40.00 per night for a room with a sea view - ridiculous. We didn't pay it!
Overall, everything was very disappointing. It wasn’t cozy, but actually quite drab and miserable. We were going to complain as we checked out, but we realized that the person at the check-in-check-out desk wasn’t “management” so we decided to put our official complaint in writing to the management. We are waiting to hear back from them!
We understand that the inn very close to the beach, but that isn’t the point. It doesn’t matter how close it is to the beach if it is miserable, uncomfortable and chintzy inside.
We definitely wouldn't recommend staying at this place, not even if you got an upgraded room. Very disappointing.

deplorable

Grossly misrepresented online. Yes the view is amazing..the end! The room was deplorable, It was about 50* when I walked in. I turned on the rusty, loud elec wall heater and left for 2 hrs.returned to a cold 1970s semi furnished room..no chairs no coffee table, a bed and a sofa and a 1980is 19" tv that was so bad it wasn't viewable. The gas fireplace shot up one tall flame in the back corner of the firebox Fortunately i was their just to sleep after attending a conference, so I inspected the bedding, it was clean.(only thing that was) and left an hour early for the meeting, not suprised the parking lot was still empty at 6pm I returned that night only to have a porch light glaring thru the uncloseable drapes. I elected to sleep cold in the quiet over the noise of the rusty wall heater. My disgust for the filthy bathroom mirror was quickly superceeded by the discovery of blood stains in the tub/shower.

We thought it was closed when we arrrived.

Wanted to get away for our anniversary, We had stayed her 20 years ago and this place was amazing. Great view right on the ocean and easy to get to. If you want updated and modern this will not be the place for you. The property just needs some help. The rooms are ok, But do need a good cleaning and some new bedding. We found things in our room that should have been cleaned up way before we ever showed up.The gutters on the roof let all the rain water rush in on our balcony and sounded like a typhoon on the slider door. When it rained you could not go out on the balcony. We had so many small bad things go wrong that it started to become a mission of patients and understanding. And make sure the elevator works. Three flights of stairs a bit rough with hands full and long day. The first night desk help did what she could to help, not her fault. You may ask why I didn't check reviews?? I read the ones on the Resort Inn's personal web sight and it sounded just fine. Then found the REAL reviews on other sights that had not been edited. I would be willing to speak to a owner of this property, it was sad to see this place go down hill. If you go I hope you have a very open mined.

It was ok

The price was high for what you get. I have stayed there a few times in the past and always on the 1st floor but this time, we were placed on the 3rd floor and the elevator is out of order. Not the easiest when you are packing luggage around. Definitely bare minimum accommodations for $300 a weekend and that was with a discount coupon. Phone didn't work and no wifi code.

Great place on a budget

Stayed at the end of august. Definitely worth what I payed. Hasn't been updated for a while but for the price with a pool and hot tub heck yeah!
Also right on the beach. Nice and quiet at night. What more can you ask for
