Nice and pleasant
on 26/07/2016 16:21We stayed at the Dax hotel for 5 days. T served us as a base to day tours in Tirol. The hotel is a 2 story house typical to this area, very clean, a lot of wood, beautiful geranium flowers decorating the balcony. The small Lofer village is next door and the Zalach river is just few steps away. The atmosphere at the hotel is pleasant and friendly, made us feel at home. Our room was very spacious, functional, and looked recently renovated. There was no wi fi at the room, but it was a very pleasant place to have a good night sleep after a long busy day. The restaurant serves a very good Scnitzel and there are several country bars in the village within short walling distance. The staff were usually pleasant warm and caring.
Welcome to the 80s
thegroundsmanon 18/06/2016 10:37This is quite an old fashioned sort of place. When we arrived it was jammed packed with French people aged in their 60's.. room was small but with a small balcony overlooking the river. Everything looked tired and while there was wifi you could only attach one device to it. The whole place was full of smells - cooking or presumably from the spa. Checkining in was difficult as there was little english spoken and service from the front desk was not always helpful.It was quite inexpensive but on balance I would avoid somewhere this quirky in the future
Good Choice for the Money
Twoseattleon 13/09/2015 22:52We stayed four nights in early September and found the hotel clean and comfortable but basic, without the amenities pricier hotels provide. We had a room overlooking the Adour river that was quiet and convenient to shops and restaurants. Breakfast was also basic, yogurt, sweet rolls, ham, chesse, coffee, fruit. They have a full service restaurant where we ate two evenings, The food was good but not exceptional. Like many of the hotels in Dax, this one offers the thermal baths that the area is known for. We did not have time to explore that option. Try the pizza place across the street from the hotel. Best pizza I've ever had! Very litle English is spoken by the staff.
Accomodation during Tour of Europe

After a severe rainfall in Biarritz, we found that there is shortage of accomodation during peak months of summer and therefore we decided to go to Dax in order to find a free room for one night. Even most of hotels were full there as well, we finally found a free room at this rather average hotel in Dax. However, good value for money in Landes in peak summer.
