Great location!
Denise Hon 12/07/2017 22:45I must start with an admission...I can not comment on cost of this camp ground as we were guest. And it is only fair that I make it clear that I am not a camping kind of person. Now that we have that out of the way....
What a great location! Yes, there is a great deal of traffic noise since you are so very close to the very busy highway. But, there is also a great deal of places within walking distance!
The lake is just across the highway...and it is easily crossed. The public access is incredibly clean and the views are fantastic.
On the campground side, there is a lovely art gallery, visitor center, church,a library and do not skip the Ice Arena!
Like I said, I do not "love" camping....but I found the restrooms/showers to be quite clean.
Overall, I didn't hate camping here. I actually enjoyed the stay.
Can't Beat the Location
MelissaLasVegason 13/06/2017 01:24My sister and I stayed here for 2 nights during our Road Trip through Lake Tahoe. We stayed in a Tent Cabin, #3-"Gentle Jeffrey". A few things about the tent cabin section is that they are close to each other (we had cool neighbors so wasn't an issue), they are along the road so you do have some traffic noise and ours had a urine smell about it (luckily I travel with a candle so we lit it inside, a pine scented one, which helped with the smell), also be aware that these do not have any type of heating element inside so if the nights are chilly be prepared and no electric! They do come with 2 twin beds, a futon, a rack to hang items/clothes on and a bin for storage. As others have mentioned the bathroom at the campground was a bit rough but hey you are camping.....we actually used the Port-a-John as this was closest to our site, this was maintained well and even had hand sanitizer. Nice location, just a short walk to the water and also some restaurants/bars close by, we stopped in MacDuff's for a couple of cold ones. The folks working the entrance to the campground were super friendly! Would stay again!
Great location
outsidenowon 22/10/2016 20:36We stayed here without a reservation in June. We could walk across the street to the lake and we also walked to a restaurant. Lake Tahoe will be busy and noisy even in the winter. The restrooms are rather gross.
Wonderful location, disgusting restrooms
Suheyl_Karakason 16/09/2016 14:03The campground itself was beautiful, with a view on Lake Tahoe. We had no reservation, campground was supposed to be full, but we still got a spot. Thanks to staff! The restrooms were really disgusting! Also the shop was closed for more than a year, we were told because the owner had left...
Kind of Busy
Hicks3456on 13/09/2016 15:16Beautiful park across the street from the lake that is incredibly noisy. Traffic, traffic and more traffic day and night. At 6:30 to 7am in the morning, even on Sunday music blared from loud speakers across the street. Bike paths in town are broken and dangerous. If you are looking for peace and relaxation you will not find it here.
