Wonderful homestay place
Karin Ton 17/08/2017 16:52Staying here means staying in a quiet place with outstanding food and being cared for in a unique, friendly, caring way. The room was huge and easily fit the extra bed. We loved the large porch off the room which was covered with the overhanging roof, so we were able to use it even during rain.
The building is very eco friendly with a lot of natural air circulation.
Previous guests complained about lizards and dogs barking: Yes, there are small lizards in the room, but they are high up where the lights are and they are busy eating small flies and the occasional mosquito. We were certainly not bothered by them. If you do not want them in the room, just use the low lights (solar powered).
We hardly heard the dogs the owners keep. You can however hear the dogs bark that are at home in the village on the other side of the field.
Good place but expensive i wish it was little more cheeper
shivangi_sharmaon 18/06/2017 14:39We stayed here for a night with my family had my pocket permitted i would have stayed for another night .
Dholes den is a home stay not a hotel before you plan your trip .. so dont expect room service television or ac's in the room .. though the staff is always available to help you with your needs..
The rooms are nice and basic not fancy stuff in the room but they have kept them quiet raw and tried to keep it close to nature. They are nice neat and clean..
The owners are amazing and very warm and welcoming . The food here is just amazing unlike hotels its like home food..
If u are allergic to dogs this wont be the place for you because dholes den is nothing but their territory , lovely digs they dont intrude your privacy but they are always on the guard.
The price includes all your meals.
Very peaceful, close to nature
Bhushan Son 23/05/2017 06:17We stayed for a day on the way to Ooty and the experience was wonderful. The place is very quiet, peaceful and close to nature. The food was awesome and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are spacious with nice balcony view.
We did not see tiger during jungle safari, but could spot lot of deers, sambar, nilgai, bisen, peacock, etc. Overall the stay was wonderful.
overprice stay
RainiePenangon 10/05/2017 18:30Overall experience was alright but honestly not worth the price at all. Paid more than Rupee 12,000 per night. No AC, toilet was full of ants and shower head was not functioning properly. We requested a kettle to boil water for tea and the kettle given was full of ants too. Staff were very friendly though. Food served was alright but seriously not worth the money.
Eco friendly, open and invigorating!
Sulakshana Non 04/05/2017 09:16Spacious and classically designed in a eco-friendly set up in a thematic furnishing of wood furniture, lamp shades, decor, hand painted canvas, neutral lighting and a serene forest environment, Dhole's Den makes your Bandipur trip a memorable one. This is a spacious ensuite with bath and under sky shower, equipped with solar geysers, aerated and well lighted rooms, great hospitality by the staff which makes you feel at ease and at home all the time.
Cons - Food price is steep 750 INR for per person with a buffet spread including plain rice, roti, dal, sabji, paneer and chicken. Though I must add the cook makes organic, hygienic and nice food.
Road condition leading to the resort is pathetic, its a mud road and a pain to reach the resort.
