Lovely very clean place...vlad is a lovely person...the resort seems to be all restaurants & shops though & platanius seems to be all Scandinavian.. food & drink was a fair bit more expensive than Corfu as well..only criticism about apartments is sun beds very close together & in 30 yrs going to Greece its 1st place I've been where nobody goes to pool bar in evening..no entertainment at all..me..my wife & 2 daughters were only ones there for whole 2 weeks..must mention the family that let their 2 young girls constantly scream around the pool..mom & dad just took no notice & let them squeal their heads off..even with ear phones at full volume couldn't cancel their noise..i also have 2 girls & when they were kids we let them play in pool but made sure no screaming & shouting..not kids fault...mom didn't give a s#it that they were upsetting other people...so lovely apartments..decent restaurants.. but not for me..back to sidari in Corfu I think...thanks to vlad the bar guy though..top man..

Precisely what we were looking for!

A cozy place to stay if you are looking for something quiet, hospitable and on a budget since apart from its low fees it also has fairly-priced snacks and breakfast. The staff is very friendly and willing to help and offer advise on local activities. Although it is located in the center of Agia Marina it manages to remain less crowded even when fully booked, which is great for what we are looking for! Though I would love it if the pool was open all-day long since our activities take up most of the morning and getting back in the afternoon means no swimming in the pool..

Very nice apartments

Stayed here for 2 weeks in nice room overlooking the pool, it had a good fridge, table, plates & cutlery to do your own food if required, but we ate out every night as there are so many good restaurants around. The towels & linen were changed usually every 3 days, but once after 5 days.Room is very clean except for floor, which even after we arrived we got black soles of the feet.Konstantina who runs the place with her husband is lovely and will do anything for you. Paid 84 euros for air conditioning and 15 euros for room safe for the 2 weeks. Food at bar is good as well, drinks as cheap as elsewhere. Can be noise from music at hotel next door some evenings. Good pool with plenty of sunloungers.
Good supermarket on other side at end of road nearly opposite garage where you can get everything you want. Plenty of sunloungers & shades on beach, where if you use the bar next to them you get them free.
20minutes on bus for 1.80 euros each way to Chania, or 15 euros by taxi. Well worth a visit and a meal one night.

Little Summer Hideaway

My husband and myself aren't long back from a week at the Dias. We had a wonderful very relaxing holiday!

The rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. Our balcony overlooked the pool which was fab. Only very very minor criticism is the showers probably need upgrading, ours for example you couldn't angle the head as everything had 'slackened' in the fixing to the wall.

The pool was serene and in the sun all day. No fighting for sunbeds or umbrellas, probably partly as we went outside of school hols but it is such a small hotel I think there is almost one lounger each!

It's less than 5 mins walk to a lovely sandy beach at the end of the road.

There are abundant restaurants again less than 5mins walk. The Rustic Garden and Raeti were our favourites.

The bus Platanias-Chania is on the main road down from the hotel. It was I think €2.40 for two of us each way to Chania, the conductors are really helpful.

We did an excursion to the Palace at Knossos which was really interesting but a long day (2-3 hrs coach there and back).

If you enjoy relaxing by the pool/beach I would highly recommend coming here. It's a quieter resort but charming all the same :)

Little gem!

Just returned from 2 weeks at this hotel. We went with another couple who had never been to Crete.
This hotel was the best - clean, comfortable, friendly, small - cannot find fault with it nor would I want to. Family run, Sotiris makes you very welcome from the minute you arrive. Michaela keeps the rooms spotless, Vladimir works hard in the bar, happy to make the cocktails! A very friendly, warm atmosphere. Lovely pool and plenty of sun beds, always available.
Situated just off the road, so no passing traffic, it is perfectly located for all the tavernas and beach bars.
All in all, we had a brilliant holiday and didn't want to come home. Lots of the guests return year after year which speaks for itself.
Have no hesitation in recommending this place, you will not be disappointed.
