What People are saying

Charming hotel

Colin Pon 13/06/2017 12:50

As other reviewers have commented, nicely located for both the main restaurant street, and what we loosely termed "hippie street" leading up to the market.
Split over two buildings, the hotel is pretty much low level - our room was spacious and nicely decorated. Staff are friendly and courteous.
Two minor downsides - the "west" building is perilously close to the aforementioned "hippie street" where there is an all night(?) club. Music does bleed over into the room, which can be a problem if you have an early start (as we did at 4am). Secondly, for the early start we requested - and handed over our tokens for - a packed breakfast, as advised by the tour company. At 4am there were packed breakfasts there, but not ours - the duty receptionist did his best, but we went without. Guess that's just life - annoying, but not a deal breaker.
Don't be put off by that, but do seek a quiet room if you're sensitive to night noise.

Not recommended in Winter

Although this hotel is in a great location and looks good, do not go in the winter time unless you have a suply of warm clothes. Rooms are freezing. No heating although you can light a fire when you enter the room which will take ages to heat up. Once you use the first lot of fire wood, they charge you for more.
Reception was not helpful when we requested information on the area.

Excellent hotel!

This time my travel to San Cris was to my best friend's wedding. Everything in this hotel is fine. They have parking lot and two buildings hotel.
It is close to downtown (walking distance) and to the restaurants street.
The rooms have a chimney that can be used (supplied with logs) for a few bucks. Everything looks vintage, but in a classy way.
If you go to San Cris, this is a good place to stay, not that expensive.

Good location for exploring the town

We stayed for two nights in a room on the ground floor. The room was clean and comfortable. It was a little cold in the evening but if that is the case you can ask for a log fire to be lit. Breakfast was good as was the service. Wifi is available but didn't work in our room so we would sit in the courtyard to get online.

Nice hotel and location

Our room was in the 3rd floor in the second building (not the main building with the reception) and is was big, clean and quite with a fireplace :). Our friends on the basement with a room facing the street complained about the noise. Tip: ask for a room in the upper floors. We really enjoyed the courtyard and we spend there some hours relaxing or having breakfast in the mornings. The breakfast in the hotel is very basic. We tried the first day, but the rest of the days we were going out (3min walk) to buy something from the bakery or the French cafe in the beginning of the Guadeloupe street. You can also bring the stuff and have breakfast in the courtyard. The atmosphere in the hotel is very relaxing. The location is perfect. Laundry is also OK with a fair price compared to other places. What we didn't like much is that we had to pay all nights in advance when we arrive. And there is no chance to e.g. stay less days in case you changed the plans (we were discussing to stay one night to Palenque, but finally we did the day trip which was really exhausted).
