Mediocrity at it's best

I had a room in the Waverly building. I arrived 2 hours before check in and was told my room was ready. well, it might have been "ready" but, it wasn't clean. I let the front desk know and the young man came to see for himself and offered to have housekeeping come back. There was visible dirt in the tub, strands of hair stuck to the blow dryer, toothpaste on the bathroom faucet and something splattered on the mirror in the bedroom area. On top of this, the microwave didn't work, nor did half of the lights. The same young man from the front desk did get the microwave to work, by following the cord into a cabinet and resetting the GFI. The lights are another story.
I was awakened at 1 in the morning by some people screaming at each other. I know management can't control guests like that however, it shows the place has very thin walls.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
The décor is outdated and the wallpaper separating. The bed is semi comfortable.
What I did like is the beach is not as wide as other places and easy to get to the ocean. The pool is a good size and well maintained.
Parking is awful. Forget about having a spot by your room. The parking lot is behind the pool and it is gated.
On the fence if I will be back or not...

Last minute vacation.

The location is great(very close to Secrets Jamaica) your far from the crowded boardwalk. Their bar is great, live music and good drinks. The actual state of the hotel is bad. Its' old unkept. I paid nearly $300 a night I don't feel that I got my monies worth. Also the walls and floors are very thin. Maybe it's because I got there near the end of the summer season. I'm definitely not returning and their pics need to be updated. But again it was last minute.

room overrun by flies

i don't usually write reviews, however, during my stay, I was in 2 different rooms-which i agreed to. the first room was wonderful and extremely clean however the 2nd room they moved me into was invaded by flies. since the hotel was booked solid they could not move me to another room and the front desk never offered to discount the room price after i had complained or even suggested that I speak the assistant manager or manager who where unavailable.

Great location near the convention center

We had an ocean-front efficiency in the north building with a spectacular ocean-front room with outdoor balcony. Only take the first floor if you want to have the sand as your patio and don't mind having the dunes block your view of the ocean. This building is probably in need of the a redecorating, but hey it's the ocean and it's ocean front.

Not as expected

Just stayed here in a "cottage" for 3 nights. With my family of 4- including a 6 year old and baby, and my mom. The amount of space was nice but it was dark, dirty and outdated- nothing you would expect for being at the beach. The location didn't bother me but we were also in one by the pool not the main road. The walls and floor were dark outdated wood panels. We felt like we were staying in old rundown cabin. The wood floors were filthy and sticky- couldn't let anyone walk barefoot because they had dirt on feet from floor. The area rug in the living room was dirty and stained as well. The bathroom was tiny and shower floor creaked - even when kids showered.
Kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms had newer furniture and fixtures which were nice and clean but the walls and floors are in major need of updating and it's impossible to look past them.
The porch and front door areas were very dirty as well- Really need to be swept daily.
First I was told no daily housekeeping in cottage... then I was told since we were not staying a full week, we would have it... we did not, we had to call for towels and that is all they did/brought.

The pool was nice, liked the coconuts beach bar, and the location was good. The office staff was friendly and helpful. The pool lifeguards, and coconuts' hostess, security and servers were all extremely friendly. We went to the pool each day and lifeguards were friendly and attentive. We also visited coconuts twice and enjoyed both experiences- food and service.

We still had a great vacation but we were very disappointed with the cottage, especially for the price we paid. Don't think we will be back.
